  • Fly along with us on a Trip from Arkansas to Kansas City! We battle ATC Re-routing just after takeoff and then bumpy winds into KIXD New Century Airport in Kansas City. We also PLAY CHICKEN with a JET on the Taxiway! Then we battle 50kt Winds at night on our departure. Quite EPIC!

Jeff - love watching these into Kansas City. I fly out of IXD down to SLG to see my daughter periodically, so kinda the opposite route. Definitely gets windy in Kansas!

I think top left camera is from a different flight. Weather doesn’t look the same but that changes halfway through.

Jeff, I have a question regarding your avionics. I notice you have a 2007 G36 with the NXI upgrade of the G1000. I'm considering this for my 2008 Cessna 182T. I've been unable to get a clear answer on whether the upgrade also gives one ESP (electronic stability protection), like factory equipped NXI planes have. I think not, but I'm still waiting for Garmin to give me an answer. BTW, I'm also a physician, but with a single clinic, I'm still struggling to come up with ways to make my aviation pay for itself....haha. On top of that I'm in Canada, where our government is, shall I just say,...less free market oriented. 😞

Yea, the nxi upgrade includes the ESP, I found out the hard way. What factory equipped nxi systems have which upgrades do not is the automatic autopilot engage system on go around. I would still have to push multiple buttons. Hope that helps!

@@TheDoctorPilot Thanks! that helps for sure. Interesting that it is not explicitly mentioned on the Garmin page. In fact, whereas they discuss esp on the factory install side of the NXI, there is no mention of esp on the upgrade side. Also, the Avionixs shop I asked here in Calgary, told me 'no'. I'm hoping it's not just a Cessna thing, since that would be very disappointing. Ya I knew about the lack of AP coupling with the TOGA button, but that's ok... the esp is however quite nice I think... Thanks again

ESP is why I purchased the upgrade… Dec make sure before you go that route. Call Garmin directly.

@@TheDoctorPilot Garmin just got back to me with the information that the NXI for Cessna does NOT include esp. Since both Cessna and Beech are Textron companies, I find this very surprising. I guess I have to ask (and please don't take offence); are you absolutely SURE you have ESP with the upgrade? ESP is not mentioned on the upgrade information pages of Garmin.
