Look at Lucky's choice of destination...Cuba. How unique he used to be even at that time! And that's why even Hollywood picturization is nothing in front of this masterpiece.......
Latin america is magical in term of of music dance tv shows only fews knws dats atlst in india, even in miami (usa ) clubs played cuban music ,nd dance as well
In that era where people were mad about white skinned girls, Lucky chose dark skinned girl in this video.. Just proves that he is way ahead of his time and his mindset is like the one of this time…we shout to end racism now.. He did it 20 years ago.. just wow!!!!
In those times, certain singers had a virtual monopoly with music directors, singing entire movie songs one after another broadly delivering the same idea of music (Different cooks, same recipe). Lucky ali almost emancipated an entire generation of 90s kids from the usual romantic, I-will-end-the-world-for-you bullshit . He blew me away as n 8 year old kid and the idea of music he conveyed transcended generations. It was raw, it was different, it was liberating, it was something we hadn't heard before. Sadly, as a country, we went musically backwards, corrupted by vulgar songs, meaningless lyrics and music which delivers nothing to the soul !!
I feel you bro. When I was very little I heard O Sanam. I couldn't listen that song for many many years and I used to think it was some dream. The next time I discovered that song, something in me was satisfied.

This song was so much ahead of its time. Imagine it was released in 2000 & it still sounds as fresh as it was when it was released. Everything about this song - shooting locations of Havana, Cuba, singing of Lucky Ali & music of Mikey McCleary is magical. But I want to specially focus on incredible guitar 🎸 played by legendary Kalyan Barooah & extremely talented Chennai Born Mumbai Based New Zealander Mikey McCleary who composed music for almost all songs of Lucky Ali. Mikey is so talented that he has played Bass Guitar & Keyboards in this song also apart from Acoustic Guitar. It is by far one of the best composed songs of Lucky Ali. What a brilliant brilliant composition. It’s in my all time top 10 songs list.
+ishan malhotra Its India.Filled with non sense idiotic morons who give millions of views and thousands of lkes for song like munnui badam char botal vodka pani wala dance all those blankety blank blank s**ts.todays gen.forgot what music is actually.90s music rocks!!!
+Debojyoti Neogi i feel good after reading your comment bro .. there are still people like u n me .. in India .. breaking the stereotype image ..god bless u bro ...
+ishan malhotra This video was uploaded by Sony Music in 2014. It was an epic song in 90's. Ppl used to upload unofficailly in youtube. So the views got distributed among all and ppl had completely forgotten about this song. But the new Mahindra KUV ad has got all of us to rem and revisit this song. I bet you within coming next 3 months this song will get 1 million views. If this song was sung now and uploaded, it has the amazing music to attract more than 100 million views.
Lucky Ali had a global flavour in his music. Fusion based alternative pop u can call it. 99% Indian listeners sadly were and still addicted to laaatke , maatke, jhaatke stuff so they failed to assimilate his work. Hence his music became a cult mostly the first 3 albums sunoh , sifar and aks. Sadly his team split and he decided to join the latke, matke, jhatke group aka Bollywood and that was the end of the love story.
The best part in Luck Ali's videos are they are away from stereotypes of casting fair models. Actors acting in any of his videos are very common. People can relate to them.
Kya vibes hain Unbelievable ..when rest of Bollywood was crap this master piece was created..2020 Bollywood is still crap this master piece still feels like somebody composed this just today.. Yeh kabhi purana nahi hota..drum beats bass guitar strings acoustic lyrics composition location.. My body automatically starts to move when I play this song.. Amazing just amazing.
@@akartmedia3534 bollywood do have good singers and most of people follow same genre which makes them kind of boring and common .. But lucky Ali's songs are on different level single piece talent.
Lucky Ali was a time when independent musicians could not make their mark in India (all 1990's). Sure! He had the backing of his father to rise up. But boy, oh boy!.. Did he bring cheer to the teenagers & yound adults growing up in India, when his music hit the stores. What gifted memories it brings even today!
Thats why i say guys lucky had liberered us. Imagine our life without ali. L8fe wud be not worth living. But he made it otherwise. Thats why he will alwaysbe a legend. And thats coming from north east part of india.

When the songs you used to love as a teenager turn into CLASSICS, that's the moment you realise that you have grown old. I am however proud. that I lived in golden era of Indian album music. We abuse Honey Singh et.al day and night, but actually it's music piracy which killed our music. Retrospect guys this was the time when we used to buy cassettes worth Rs 100 and they had names like Lucky Ali, Alisha Chinoy, Biddu, Raagheshwari, Anaida. When was the last time I spent a dime for buying music? God forbid I could not remember; And that is how music died and we landed up in a vicious cycle of Honey Singh and Baadshah shit. There are moments when Rahman tries a CPR FOR this dead body, but I assume even He is getting a bit old for it.
wtf were you blabbering here.... I'm not a honey Singh fan either but it's very clear that he has more talent than you and he is more successful... if you don't like his music, don't listen to it
Grow up and troll someplace else. Of course He has more talent than me; I`m not pursuing music as my career. In fact it is an irony of our times that autotune music and senseless rhyming lyrics are appreciated more than they are worth for. I would refrain from commenting any further, however, coz wise people say, " Don`t argue with the idiots; they will take you down to their own level and then beat you with experience". You obviously seem to be quite experienced.
Abhi he is good child he said he going to leave us old folks ,great relief .Bitch named madhew is gone Amen and spit on his grave . R.I.P Madhew Peniskar
Why his records weren't as famous and popular like the shit we deal with today. His cassets should have gathered millions. The plight of these singers is that indian music is concentrated on playback singing rather an artist's solo music video gaining appreciation.
Sony cassette were expensive than other music labels with bollywood music and people who have no interest in guitar drums bass etc. basically people not interested in West kind music never liked his music probably that could be reason. Imagine if he was in pakistan or nepal he would have been a huge hit there for sure. Indians were always limited to bollywood when it comes to music back in days . He always have conflict with indian music level companies which took all the hardwork of real artist. Bmg Sony did justice with his music videos.
This Album name was AKS and was his 3rd album, was released in 2000 after kaho na pyar hai movie was released....not in 1998......Sifar was released in 1998 and was his 2nd album
@Priya K i really don't know why you had to be so harsh towards my opinion. I was just appreciating the song. But, that's okay. Guess this is how half of the internet is now a days.
Even today this one song beats the shit out of all the songs by Honey Sing, Badshah and all the likes of them. Indian music will be incomplete without Lucky Ali.
I remember I had a cassette with all luck Ali songs along with a Sony Walkman player ..I remember while I was returning back in train after visiting my sister I just played side A side B continuously till I reached home..
Lets keep Luky Ali's music aside for a second and appreciate the amount of work he did on the cinematography of his videos. It was way ahead of his time. Top Notch... Truely a gem💎
When both nations India and Pakistan were conflicting about their power and rules...lucky ali was exploring the world, giving our country a exposure to every nook and corner of the world.

Since then I have heard all his songs for like umpteenth times. Still they all are so refreshing and soothing. It's sad to see we as nation have moved so backwardly in taste of music. I regret not being born in the 90's..

I was just 16 when this came out and that slow pan at 4:14 was one of the most iconic and electric “man and woman look into each others’ eyes” moments for me. The shot choice, and the music, and the simple magic of time slowing down for two people as they briefly forget the bustle around them…top tier song and direction.
I remember a interview column in 'The Hindu', Lucky Ali pointed out the losing sheen of the Bollywood and the Bollywood music in coming future, there deciding to leave the musical field and concentrate in to organic farming in New Zealand. This was in 2003.

What a brilliant brilliant composition. It’s in my all time top 10 songs list.
Nostalgia....this song will never sound old....so refreshing.....remembering my teenage years in the nineties and my first crush....love u Lucky Ali

I'm pretty sure this song came out in 2000s... but I get your feeling.

Lucky Ali is only for selected few ppl like us not for everyone
Now bollywood music only copypaste old songs remix not proved own talent
@@akartmedia3534 bollywood do have good singers and most of people follow same genre which makes them kind of boring and common .. But lucky Ali's songs are on different level single piece talent.
@last man on earth @AK art media see salil jamdar
I agree
The rest of Bollywood definitely wasn't crap when this song came out. We had a lot of great artists in their glory days back then.
Hey Bollywood, please don't Ever recreate this song.
Don't worry bro sony music has the right of this song not T-series
Never ever
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Last 45 seconds music feels like you are in a different world just close your eyes. No singer can match his exotic voice
Right
Yes . I too noticed it. The last part of the song is pure heaven. Loved it inch by inch
Lucky Ali was a time when independent musicians could not make their mark in India (all 1990's). Sure! He had the backing of his father to rise up. But boy, oh boy!.. Did he bring cheer to the teenagers & yound adults growing up in India, when his music hit the stores. What gifted memories it brings even today!
i dont think Bollywood deserve to get another like him .... He was gem of 90's ....nobody came close .The undisputable King of Music.
There shouldn't be dislike button on this video.
This is love, purity, this everything.
The moment she enters with the mask.. with the guitar leads in the background... Always gives me goosebumps

Same here ufff the vibe 🥰🥰🥰
Same here! !
Same here.
He is one generation ahead of singers of that time
Not only ahead so so faaaaaaaaaaar ahead 💞💞💞💐💐
lucky ali made his own identity by himself, not by singing for some Bollywood actor...respect sir!
90s songs have a unique power to bring a smile on our faces and tears in our eyes at the same time.
We were LUCKY to grow up listening to these songs.
This artist is not our cup of tea.
I feel he creates music for himself only.
Totally independent. surely you can not buy him with money..
Great word

There are moments when Rahman tries a CPR FOR this dead body, but I assume even He is getting a bit old for it.
well said 👌
wtf were you blabbering here....
You obviously seem to be quite experienced.
yes...it's good when an idiot tells me not to argue with him.. i guys I'll leave you and your skewed logic to marinate in mediocrity here
Abhi he is good child he said he going to leave us old folks ,great relief .Bitch named madhew is gone Amen and spit on his grave .

Why his records weren't as famous and popular like the shit we deal with today. His cassets should have gathered millions. The plight of these singers is that indian music is concentrated on playback singing rather an artist's solo music video gaining appreciation.
In our juvenilehood this song was massive hit
Back when there prolly was no PR
Sony cassette were expensive than other music labels with bollywood music and people who have no interest in guitar drums bass etc. basically people not interested in West kind music never liked his music probably that could be reason. Imagine if he was in pakistan or nepal he would have been a huge hit there for sure. Indians were always limited to bollywood when it comes to music back in days . He always have conflict with indian music level companies which took all the hardwork of real artist. Bmg Sony did justice with his music videos.
Intezaar mein deri ho par zarur aaye...
This single sentence has so much gravitas to it. Unbelieveable.
I buy his cassette for Rs 90 at 1998. I still have it with cassette player and both working. Can't get excited more than that 🙂
Wow ! Like a time capsule 🙀
This Album name was AKS and was his 3rd album, was released in 2000 after kaho na pyar hai movie was released....not in 1998......Sifar was released in 1998 and was his 2nd album
90rs is such a big amount at that time❤️❤️❤️
Wow!! Lucky You. 💕
Wow!
Can we just appreciate the music video for once. It had one of the most beautiful visuals ever! Way ahead of it's time!
Plot in Cuba, Havana
@Priya K i really don't know why you had to be so harsh towards my opinion. I was just appreciating the song. But, that's okay. Guess this is how half of the internet is now a days.
@Priya K and yes, I do believe the music industry in India has gone back big time. THIS is what it should have been like.
@Priya K let's just stick to music for this video comment section. :)
Even today this one song beats the shit out of all the songs by Honey Sing, Badshah and all the likes of them.

Other than the song, the change of color gradient as soon as they fall in love... What a genius back in time, in every single frame, was no less than a movie. Truly kudos to the producer, director and the music

Nostalgic bro....so emotional..cant express
Apart from Lucky Ali's Magical voice the music, picturisation, theme everything is so gracious. 4:14 onwards is like pure intoxication !! Some 3-4 years ago I first came to know about Lucky Ali Sir. Since then I have heard all his songs for like umpteenth times. Still they all are so refreshing and soothing. It's sad to see we as nation have moved so backwardly in taste of music. I regret not being born in the 90's..
Can't believe I just messaged my 2 school frnds after listening to lucky ali songs.. these songs definitely have some magic
The change in color tone at 4:16 is iconic.. cannot believe it was 2000 when this MV was released...
They should have an entire genre named after him for there has been nothing like his music before or since..
Truer words were never spoken.
Lucky Ali was 10 years ahead of his time in terms of music awareness in India.

That's my favourite moment too ❤️
I remember a interview column in 'The Hindu', Lucky Ali pointed out the losing sheen of the Bollywood and the Bollywood music in coming future, there deciding to leave the musical field and concentrate in to organic farming in New Zealand. This was in 2003.
