What size was the Machine?

@@abhishekjain725 I'm not sure of the sheet size, It must have been at least 72" wide, but the total weight was alledgely 70 tons. Letterpress of course using plastic plates on a carrier sheet. The impression control was hydraulic and required a sheet to be removed on starting and stopping because it worked so slowly that the sheet was only half printed.

@@ronnieg6358 That's really interesting. Here in India we rarely get to see any machine over the size of 40 inches. The most common size used here is 25 or 26 inches.

@@abhishekjain725 At the time I was given to understand it was one of only 2 ever made. Titles I remember printing on it were David Niven's The Moon's a Balloon, Henry Cooper's Biography, and The Oxford Book of Children's Verse. This last one was memorable because of the impression control, the blank areas of the plate inked up and began to print. This resulted in a rejection by the publisher and an army of labourers cleaning up bound books with typewriter rubbers for weeks!
