@@Azelicee Are you new to Imperator or PDX games in general? If just Imperator I'd recommend checking out Syracuse. They are the largest independent nation in Sicily at the campaign start and are able to form Magna Graecia relatively early on. It's a great start since you can get the hang of naval warfare, building cities and expanding into different cultural and religious regions. Good luck!

@@AlzaboHD It is really rough, all you can do is wait for opportunities to expand into them when the Seleucids are losing wars, or are in a civil war for a couple quick bites of territory. By the time you do form it, it will probably be a late game and it will be challenging to continue expanding since you will have the India blob to your east and whatever comes out ontop west (surprisingly it was Phrygia in my playthrough) so you'll have to play aggressive whenever you can, and drop out of wars quickly with bites/chunks of territory since for the most of your campaign you'll be fighting blobs.
March of The Eagles, current day Europa Universalis 4 were just bad batches. It happens. Stick to the CK2, Vict 2, Imperator vintages and you'll be fine.

I wouldn’t buy a PDX game on release tbh. I’d wait a year at least and pick it up along with the inevitable expansions when a bundle is on sale. Also, by then it will be playable and not a buggy mess.
I'm a big history guy. I fell in love with the Roman Empire in middle school and have loved it ever since. I discovered EU4 a couple of years ago and was hooked. When Imperator was announced, I was beyond ecstatic. My friend laughed and said "This is your wet dream right here. It's a game by that company you like and it's about the Romans." At launch, I was majorly disappointed. I got curious while waiting on other games to install last night and started a casual Macedonia game and was pleasantly surprised at how much better the game is now than at launch.

Girl. You're missing out. Play it already. Its awesome and very, very addictive. I recommend starting first with CK2. Its the easiest and the most fun, and if you like RPGs, you're going to love CK2. Plus, since we're both individuals of culture, there's an anime portrait mod for CK2, and its very well done. Try it out if you got the time. Once you've mastered CK2, the other games are more or less easy to master, even Victoria 2, the hardest of Paradox's games.
I was really excited for this game when it was being hyped before release. But when I got it I found out that my computer wasnt beefy enough for the sheer amount of different nations. Even after an upgrade I feel like a dodged a bullet with it.
Had nothing to do with your pc specs, it just ran horribly shitty for everyone no matter how high end your pc. i7 6700k and a gtx 1080, both overclocked, couldn't run it at more than like 5-10 fps when unpaused, now it runs near perfectly at max settings on a 1440p monitor. It still has tremendous problems, but it runs way smoother than say Hoi4.

Even though it has the same buffs as Persia. I think forming the Achaemenid Empire as Herlica Pontica, is probably the most interesting and one of the harder challenges. It would be cool if the game added the "Tomb of Cyrus the Great" as a religious shrine, and an "Achaemenid Bloodline" buff for the Achaemenids, like how the Agreads have their own bloodline buff.
Since you've played the game, is it good now? I've been meaning to try it, but I heard mixed reviews from several folks, so I'm still fence whether to play the game or not.
All of your ideas sound great (especially looking forward to the Crete -> magna graecia) but personally I would be really into a general guide to the game since it’s changed so much the last year or so. The game looks really cool now, but as with all paradox games it’s a lot to take in and you’re really good at making great tutorials. 😊

@@kyokyodisaster4842 yea the game hasn't formed much of a community yet due to its rocky launch, i hope as the game improves a community will form around it the way it has for other paradox games, it still needs a lot of patching up but the potential is really there, I think the game just really needs more flavor, many people who want this game to succeed are interested in the time period and not so much the mechanics, although I think many of us would like more systems being the its a paradox game

I fell in love with the Lord of the Rings mod for this game. It seem like this game is easier to mod than other Paradox games. Wish more people gave it a chance.
I was really hyped for Imperator Rome before it's launch, and while it's improved by a significant margin, I can't help but feel disappointed that something is just... missing. Comparing it to the highly intricate micro-managing of Hoi4, the robust economics of Vic2, and the Colonization and ideas of Eu4, Imperator is just really missing that extra something to keep it unique and interesting.
I like it because of the time period and it’s a merging of the previous paradox titles yes it needs flavor but by christmas it should rival eu4 at Cossacks dlc so it should be Uber playful friendly
Their really isnt that much different military traditions nor unique mission trees for various barbaric nations, so playing a different nation and looking at Gual, Hispania, Northern Germany/Scandinavia, or Britiania is just a lame void and dosent give you a challenge if you blob.
For me the thing it's missing is 'more map'. I know the game is meant to be about the Romans and the Greeks, but they weren't the only interesting civilizations in this time period. China, for instance, was currently in the final throws of its longest-standing dynasty in history, and what was to come at the end of the Zhou dynasty would probably be one of the most important events in World history, the Chinese Warring States period, which gave birth to the Qin dynasty and by proxy the Mandate of Heaven, something which would shape the eastern world for the next 2,000 years. An expansion which added China would be much appreciated.
I finished the Tyrean Purple achievement back when the game was new, but I doubt I could again with all the changes. It'd be a totally different game for sure.
Can you make a video on Imperator’s rarest formables? There are some which I have never seen and wish to know more about like the Dahae, the Kushan Empire, Syria, Media, Yamnat, and Kemetic Egypt.
I just picked up the game a couple days ago, having a blast. I would love to see a guide on how to thrive as a Hibernian. I keep getting stomped by either proto-vikings or unwashed Britons.
More than anything I'd like a guide for how to play Imperator. I know that's not necessarily your thing (tutorial videos I mean), so if you could sneakily direct me to a tutorial of your choice, that would be appreciated.
Not un language that come from latín. In spanish, French and Portuguese ce sounds like se. In Italian Ce is pronounced as 'Cheh'. In this languages Celt is not pronounced as kelt.
Its hidden but quite easy to unlock, all you need to do is right click the game in steam, go to launch options and type "-debug_mode". Now you can press tilda to open console like eu4, hope this helps!
If you're on the fence I'd recommend waiting until it goes on sale - the base game is fantastic and I do not regret picking it up. It's actually quite a bit more fleshed out than Stellaris was one year post launch and it's only improving more over time
What do you mean, they are supporting this game a lot, there are already 4 major updates. I really hope they contine with their new system of major update with most features free+Small Content Pack with optional features, instead of the atrocious EU4 system.
Played as Athens, form Hellenic League through decision and form Delian League through mission afterwards and oh boy my capital got tonnes of permanent buffs.
VictusLovesGames I mean The Han with the current mechanics would trash the xiongnu, and colonise the entire steppe, they would smash into south east Asia with nothing to stop them, besides India is not united, just the north and that has a strong rival to the west
The Hellenic league is actually kind of funny because basically the only time the Greeks would cooperate outside of a large military threat was when the Roman Emperor Hadrian worked his ass off to make them get along.
When I saw that Hammer strike....I instinctively thought that a "Hello my weedby gravy babies, we are back at Depression simulator 2019 and today we are going to pratice necromancy and defile the graves of nations who have had honorable Sepuku and Bring them back into the Nightmare that is Imperator Rome; God kill me". I was honestly both offended and disappointed to find a perfectly sane and not at all reprehensible voice doing the intro before realising.that I hadn't clicked on an isorrows video.
Reject Babylon, return to Sumer.. tbh though, I really wished there was a sort of easter egg nation where you can form sumeria and other old mesopotamian civilizations like Akkadia, the Hittites and basically bring back the oldest civilizations just for a laugh

I want to strange people who say “Seltic” instead of “Keltic” it comes from the Greek Keltoi and should be pronounced as such.

Not un language that come from latín. In spanish, French and Portuguese ce sounds like se. In Italian Ce is pronounced as 'Cheh'.
In this languages Celt is not pronounced as kelt.

Its hidden but quite easy to unlock, all you need to do is right click the game in steam, go to launch options and type "-debug_mode". Now you can press tilda to open console like eu4, hope this helps!

Maxwell Frengle it’s best to wait for a few more updates and dlcs before deciding to pay for it, they’re making it better but it’s not quite there yet
If you're on the fence I'd recommend waiting until it goes on sale - the base game is fantastic and I do not regret picking it up. It's actually quite a bit more fleshed out than Stellaris was one year post launch and it's only improving more over time
What do you mean, they are supporting this game a lot, there are already 4 major updates.
I really hope they contine with their new system of major update with most features free+Small Content Pack with optional features, instead of the atrocious EU4 system.

The Hellenic league is actually kind of funny because basically the only time the Greeks would cooperate outside of a large military threat was when the Roman Emperor Hadrian worked his ass off to make them get along.

I was honestly both offended and disappointed to find a perfectly sane and not at all reprehensible voice doing the intro before realising.that I hadn't clicked on an isorrows video.
