I've heard someone say, if a person who is straight-forward about how he/ she hates you and wants you to die, it's not as scary as they quietly think that while put on a fake smile. Sung Rok is indeed an excellent actor, his eyes compared to the couple first episodes really change, they're filled with worry and love, not hatred
He is a great actor, I watch his many drama and sometimes he deals with a difficult character and always gets the feel.
The Emperor is absolutely confused, but he started to have a change of heart. The moment his tears fall while slappin his face and say this "snap out of it, Let her go" I felt the regrets hitting him hard. Ugh!! THIS IS INSANE! 🤔😢

Can you see Sunny's emotion? Like she just witnessed how pitiful the Emperor is in front of her. And when he hugs her from behind, it was like breaking her heart. Well we cannot deny that she truly loves him before (when they started as husband and wife) and those feeling cannot just gone easily.
For the first time since the Emperor started liking Sunny, I saw real emotions from the Empress appear when he suddenly hugged her, like its finally real and I saw the love she has for him from the start that was buried deep, finally showed up again. I think the Empress still loves the Emperor, she just can't express it like she did from the start due to circumstances that already happened, its a shame that the Emperor didn't see it, i'm really rooting for them despite everything that happened.

That's true....if she hated the emperor, she would never have counseled or supported him to change his bad deeds. She is only hurt and with just reason ... since her husband humiliated her many times and it is difficult for her to regain confidence.
We most admit the writers are amazing. They took someone who was hated in the beginning and made you cheer for him to get happiness with the person he picked on.

Don't get me wrong, I love Choi Jin Hyuk (Woo Bin).But I can't help but root for Jang Nara to end up with the Emperor. Lee Hyuk is soo lost and lonely and unloved. I can't help but feel for him. Yes he has done horrible things, but which of us would have turned out decent if we were taught from childhood that it's not just okay but necessary to be nasty? Poor kid. I hope Writer Nim gives him the redemption he needs and deserves.

IKR me too 😂 at first, I am team Woo Bin and all into Sunny's revenge, but now I see the real Hyuk and how he developed, I grow liking of him. I pity him since everybody is manipulating him, including Sunny and Woo Bin for their own agenda.

One thing the emperor has lots of layers for his character n we see those layers being peel out one by one. Judging on the characters alone and not the actors behind it, dont u agree that this character should be the main lead. The writer messed up. Wang shik character only has one layer that is revenge. Thats it.not much development for his character. His character is overshadow by the emperor character. If this was made into novel, hero n heroin is emperor n empress..

Well, i dont think he shows a rational mindset and all he can seem to see is his own loss and it was pretty clear min yu ra didnt love him...he was the crazy one to believe so...their chemistry looked like she was tolerating him or going along with the act just to survive...to have a place to stay

I honestly feel so bad for the emperor. Terrible childhood, no support from his mother and father. Only one he probably had was his grandmother and So Hyun empress. He’s just surrounded by people that wanted to use him to advance for their selfish needs. I can’t bare to see how he will survive if finds out who chun woo bin truly is and that the empress knew all along. I felt so terrible that he feels like who ever he truly love will die. :(

It would be very nice if in the end Sunny knows how much suffering his husband has been then die protecting her (and maybe the chief guard too) and the people know that the emperor is innocent of everything that goes wrong. It will fairly pay that he's so easily manipulated. He will be the real (tragic) hero in this drama. I love this character from the beginning. I know that he's bad bcz of the people around him not bcz of himself. And shin sung rok is such a talented actor.
It is good that he didnt kill his grandmother or empress so hyun..but he still need to pay for killing wang shik mother but hold on... Wang shik mother is still alive right. She ask yura to help her when they left her by the roadside. Im happy for that. But who try to kill lee yoon at the end. Writer makes us suspect the emperor again after slowly gain our trust that hes cganging for the better.. I really hope it was not him.please

So some of you guys are saying that the Emperor is cruel he killed ppl and used their feelings but........isn’t Woo Bin doing the same just bc the Emperor is making the impression stronger it doesn’t mean Woo Bin is innocent either. Yeah, I know the Emperor isn’t in his right mind but still The guard killed ppl too. While he had a beautiful childhood the king had a horrible one. Instead of saying that Woo Bin is so innocent cute you should wake up and see that they did rutheless thing. The guard used the king‘s sisters feelings the king did that too to Sunny.
Have you thought about why Wang Shik is doing the things he’s doing? He would not want revenge if his mother was not ran over and left carelessly to die. WooBin might have used sojin, but he hasn’t tried to kill her twice. Sojin hasn’t loved him since she was a teenager or was manipulated into marriage so his mistress would not go to jail for a murder they both committed.

The empress said "But not saying things after knowing it is a sin also". You know, she must said this words to his younger brother in law (Lee Yoon). Because Lee Yoon know. He know everything from the begining. He know his brother and his late sister in law fight, but he silent. He think that his brother kill his late sister in law, but he didnt said that to his grandmother who can fix all because she have great power in that time.
His brother became like this time and more broken is because he (Yoon) still silent. And all people easily forgive him. Not fair.
Ep 42 Yoon maybe died. I feel sad for him, but I still didnt like him. And all people will blame it to the emperor. I believe that the emperor didnt kill his own brother.
Why I think that? Because he never order people to stalk his brother before. He give his brother freedom in abroad. When his parent make Yoon as crown prince, he feel angry but never try kill Yoon. He is in ep 40 said that Yoon abandoned him, it's mean that Hyuk love his brother. Although they fight and Yoon never express his behavior as his younger brother, Hyuk look Yoon as his brother.
If author make The emperor as the person who kill his owm brother, it's ridicilous.

This film is like William Shakespeare drama. Who end with tragedy. I admire the author who writted this story.
