The new 2022 GMC canons now come with a shifter like that. I was looking at your video and thought it was a good idea went out to my truck but I just got this week and noticed the shifter is already changed to a slimmer model.
Just installed one in my 2016 Canyon. Thanks for the video it was easy. I actually purchased one from an auto recycling place and paid almost nothing compared to what it cast new.
Why wait for warranty to expire? Keep the old 1995 cavalier style knob and throw it back in if for some reason you need warranty work on your shifter...
I'm a big fan of your tutorial style. If you could reach into my brain and tutorialize all of the mods I'd like to put on my Colorado, that would be great.
I started using this Mic for my iPhone in this video. Really helps to improve sound quality.

To you owners of a GMC Canyon Duramax 6 speed This mod works. I just did this to my 2021 Canyon and thanks to Fondupot's Garage for a great video.
Thanks for watching! Glad the video helped!
Hello
What are the two buttons for on the side of the new shifter
Same function as the OEM shifter. When in L or M modes it lets the driver lock out gears up and down.

Yep! Someone at GM is taking notice!

Nice job! Good find! Thanks for watching.
I wonder if the Corvette C6 automatic knob would work on these trucks. Might be a nice low profile option.
Not sure! Try it out and let me know.
Why did Dash Indicator go up to 7 when you were Manually testing gears?
It’s not manual shifting it’s locking out gears. Used for towing.
@@fondupot ok I obviously have a lot to learn
Where did you purchase the knob ..
Gm Parts direct or Tasca Parts.
I'm tempted to do this with my 2022 Colorado to upgrade from the cheap molded plastic version it has.
Do it!
I just did this update, looks awesome, super simple! Thanks 🙏🏻
Awesome. Glad to hear. Thanks for watching.
Definitely my next mod!
Awesome! Good luck. Thanks for watching.
Thank you for the informative content sir!
You’re welcome. Thanks for watching.
I just did this but I didn't take the trim off very easy.
The trim is easier to take off if you have some sort of pry tool
Will this work with the 6 speed duramax in the GMC Canyon
As far as I know it should be the exact same process.
will this work with other GM shift levers? Say from the Acadia, etc?
Yes. With some modifications. The Acadia and blazer shifters work I believe. But the connectors are different and need to be spliced.
planning on doing this to my 2018 canyon as soon as the warranty expires
Good deal. You’ll like it! Thanks for watching.

Where did you get that carbon
fiber trim piece? My 2019 has an ugly silver one.
That’s factory. My truck is an All Terrain. That’s what it came with.
@@fondupot oh right the GM version is nicer inside. I can probably just order that piece. They should use that around the radio as well. I
@@seadoo4life127 Yes, I think you can order it. Should swap right in.
What year is the Enclave knob from?
Not sure to be honest. Use the part number in the description to look it up. 👍🏼

Stephen, thanks very much for the compliment! Send me an email at fondupotsgarage1@gmail.com with your mod ideas! Maybe I can implement some.
