Tennessee boy here, and Shaboozey is fire. I don't see him as a poser. He's embracing both his African culture and hip hop roots while also embracing the fact that he grew up in the sticks of Viriginia. It's dope to see more artists bending and meshing genres in ways that actually work. Dude is hella talented and gonna go far.
He didn’t grow up in the sticks, not whatsoever. He’s from northern Virginia. But why should that matter so much? He’s from a part of the country that does appreciate country so maybe that would influenced him but he’s just doing his thing
@@snoppys Perfectly said. Matters not at all. This is part of who he is. Clearly they don't know who he is and didn't do any research on him prior to this reaction. Why are people surprised that people that look like him are into country music? They don't know their history.
Northern VA is 10 to 30 minutes outside of DC, so suburbs. He was born in Fairfax Co. which is something like the 2nd richest county in the US (the first is probably Loudoun Co, another Norther VA suburb). Far for sticks.
As a White boy from the ghetto's of California, converted to Tennessee, this song brings everyone together on weekends in Micro brew bars. Everyone claps and hoots and hawlers. it's amazing to see such beauty.❤
Same I was born & raised in California moved to North Carolina i love it out here California is a vacation destination no longer a place to live a life in.
Old man whitey here...was at Wild Horse Pass casino this weekend where he did shows: white country folks, black girls sporting Cowboy hats and Daisy Dukes, yuppies, bros rocking stylish country. You had it all. It's friggin' great. Brings people together.
I pretty much listen to only country, live in a 300 person town in AZ on a small ranch, beat up old dodge and horses... all the country stereotypes... This song is on HEAVY repeat for me, its probably my favourite country song in years
I have been listening to country since birth and that was 51 years should. This song is so freaking catchy. It’s just a good time and I can only imagine the fun the bar would have singing it. Love it!
Well I'm not really a country music guy. My backround is Hair metal and Heavy Metal. So I dont really have a lot if skin in the argument. But I am fairly well acquainted with country music and I can say it's been on a major decline for years. It's become too Pop. But I did like this song.
Northeast Georgian born and raised here... This song is EVERYWHERE and we LOVE it!! It's catchy, authentic, and all around a hit. Definatley blowing up in the sticks of the South lol
Tipsy was awesome when it came out so I love the reference. This song makes a girl that listens to mostly hard rock & 90s hip hop/R&B wanna break out dancing & singing along. He blends country & hip hop effortlessly. Talented!
It's a fun song and that's what makes it a great song. It lightens you up the just the way a fun song should. And what he is singing about is very relatable. I mean really is there a single person on this planet who hasn't asked themselves why the hell do I work so hard, and feeling that your not getting anywhere.
Music is how ya want to express yourself and he's def not a Poser. I'm mixed from NC and it's nice to see more come together and just vibe it out and have a good time. Glad to see him doing his thing and representing forgotten greats that people can later experience for themselves. Music is just amazing!
4:12 duh!!!! That’s what makes this song ever more fun!!! The dj’s remix the two at bars and clubs and it’s a VIBE. Everybody goes crazy when it comes on.
Tipsy was huge while i was in high school. The first time i heard this song thats what i immediately thought. I said “this dude just turned tipsy into a country song”
Heard him for the first time when he opened at a Jelly Roll concert. It usually takes me a minute to warm up to someone new. This was a rare time i became an instant fan.
I like how in the video Shaboozey started off sad and tired... But as more and more he sings his song, you can see him loosening up and at the end you the him smiling
As a country girl - I can assure you this is getting played every where!! As soon as I heard this - I screamed “that’s J-Kwon”! I grew up on it and hearing this was such a fun merge and I love it.
I love song. It just makes everyone smile, and just happy. We need more things in life to just instantly make us all feel better.. thanks for doing this 1. Love and respect from South Carolina
You are the only reactions channel that actually pulled Tipsy and let us hear it. Now I have to have it. Thank you.🩷 I hope J Kwan has Tipsy charting again bc of Shaboozy. 2. Stop it. No. Us country girls do not have Birkin Bags, we have corn feed bags and flour sacs. However, if you wanna start a GFM for someone in need, I'm not going to be mad at ya. 😁😅🩷 Great reaction!!!
I had forgotten about your channel. I’m normally really good at subscribing to channels I enjoy, you managed to slip through the cracks. Shaboozey brought me back. I can’t quit listening to this song, thanks for the reaction.
Not a poser in the least, he is all truth. I love the sound of his voice and the music. This is a fun song, plain and simple. He blends his hip hop and country perfectly and now that the album has dropped , he is going to be a huge draw. Let It Burn hits me so hard. I am a huge Shaboozey fan.
Literally sitting in a bar, in East Texas, jamming to this song. I keep asking why this song hits so hard, this is the first time someone helped me realize it had that jkwon note, and now I understand. It has that subtle nostalgia.
Some country traditionalists may hate on this, but 9.5/10 people love this kind of music. After all, country music was originally created by black folks and like rock, was appropriated by white folks.
Here comes the one to the three to the four preceeds the Jayquan or whatever, doesn't diminish this epic hit. It means more than just the song, it, for me, represents a collaboration of cultures, it's what this country needs!
I had to Google the lyrics. even now I know he says ‘two stepping’ on the table I still hear ‘goose stepping.’ Visions of basil fawlty goose stepping out of the dining room, finger held under his nose pretending it’s a moustache, with an arm raised.
I wouldn't insult this song to compare it to Old Town Road. If you're familiar with Northern Virginia, this song makes sense. Yes, it's the south. Yes, it's the heart of the confederacy. However, it's still the DC area, and can have a very urban flavor. He also did a much better job merging the music while still respecting country roots and the country sound. I'm against the erasure of genres, but I'm also for having fun in a genre that isn't your own - so long as you respect the genre you're working in. Shaboozey did a good job of it.

They are playing that song at country bars. There is a whole dance for it.

I was at an Irish bar in Iceland last month and they played this song... everyone there knew the lyrics. I'm pretty sure this song is global by now.
Out here in Virginia, we got whole bars dancing to this. And at Shaboozey's concert, J Kwon came out and rapped Tipsy
But these two think they made the correlation for all of us 🤣🤣🤣 Like we didn’t all already know. lol
Bravo
"Tipsy" is a VILE, song. UTTER GARBAGE lyrics!

💯 they will play this in a “country bar”… guaranteed there’s already a line dance choreographed !

Man shoutout to nelly, he was on this country rap merge a decade ago lol
Real talk.
Try 2 decades
A decade ago??? brother, that was damnn near 20 years ago XD
As a true southerner, he represented the culture so well. Good job.
Love Shaboozey. He figured out the mix on this album, but you can put his catalog on shuffle and it’s deep. Want to see him win
The way country music is going I think this man has a pretty good shot of becoming something of a powerhouse if he does it right. Real truth.
This is a bring people together kinda song….its so happy

Shaboozey has some great music in his catalog. Very much fitting the style he's going for, blend of hip hop, country rock, and americana

Check out his song Let It Burn.
I’ve listen to it nonstop since I’ve heard it. It’s fun and I love it.
The writers/producers for "Tipsy" are credited on this song, incase there was any question about the reference.
