Lessons in “self care”

I am the stereotypical eldest daughter, which for a lot of people that means you took care of everybody else and those same behaviors carried over into adulthood. Having my transplant at 23 definitely shifted my perspective on taking care of myself, but I’m continuing to learn and grow and improving that by recognizing that I cannot be my best to other people and sow into other people if I’m being crappy to myself.
