    Strange looking rocket. I admire the pragmatic take India has. Because of their smaller engines, they took a few more Earth orbits to slingshot to Mars than NASA, but they accomplish the same goal. I think it's really cool the world involvement in space. So many arduino tutorials I taken online were by Indian engineers.

    • @jayasree6722
      @jayasree6722 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +51

      It's not India can't build bigger engines, it's not economical for us now .

    • @up4open763
      @up4open763 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      slingshot only works to divert angle without expending fuel. otherwise, you still have to overcome the same gravity.

    • @KrishanVerma-r4p
      @KrishanVerma-r4p 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +22

      Correct reason for less stronger Indian rockets:
      The engines are not small they are average or above average as a matter of facts ISRO is currently working on even stronger SCE-200 engine and 2 more much powerful engines. The reason why India's most powerful rocket LVM-3 can lift only 10tons to LEO is that until now ISRO has never felt the need to build larger rockets, all domestic demands can be fulfilled with LVM-3 until some time ago but now as Indian space program is getting more and more mature need for more powerful rockets has risen and hence stronger Indian rockets are a thing of near future but not present.

    • @sumandutta4834
      @sumandutta4834 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +11

      0:51 if you are referring to this peculiar-looking rocket. Then, just to be clear, it is a technology demonstrator for the crew module's high altitude abort test. Using the L40 second stage of GSLV, ISRO tested the crew module on 21 October 2023. The launcher that will be used for the actual flight is LVM3, previously called GSLV Mark 3.

    • @death_parade
      @death_parade 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@KrishanVerma-r4p Wrong on several counts. ISRO has been trying to build more powerful rockets for a long while. And reality is that we couldn't. We still rely on foreign launchers for our I-6K bus satellites, for example. NGLV will change all that and make us totally self-sufficient in space launches for the first time in history.
      Also, SCE-200 is the most powerful engine ISRO is currently working on. The LM-110 is not as powerful (its in the name, 200 ton thrust force vs 110 ton). That one 3 MN Full Flow Staged Combustion engine that was showcased in a recent presentation is not a proper program right now, they are just carrying out a feasibility study, possibly to create a Starship-Superheavy class rocket after NGLV.

    • @abhilash9918
      @abhilash9918 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +22

      Let's not get overboard. The Russians have decades of experience in manned space operations, and India is just getting started.
      India is also not in a hurry or in a competition with Russians.
      In fact those 4 Indian astronauts were trained in Russia.

    • @eg300
      @eg300 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      This world is moving fast, a decade definitely 2 and starship/spacex dominance and affordability would make it so that most other programs are obsolete. Most countries including India would probably just buy starships and get trained on how to use them. Or buy seats on the flights. A decade or 2 and they’ll be in the category of most countries.. way waaaaayyy behind spacex.

    • @death_parade
      @death_parade 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +17

      @@eg300 Quite wrong actually. Try stepping out of the realm of SpaceX fanbois club and spaceflight fanbois club in general and try to enter some geopolitics fanboi clubs. It is readily apparent that India is NEVER going to ditch its own space program and become a Starship client state.
      ISRO's NGLV is a Falcon-9 analogue with methalox instead of kerlox engines and is readying for a first flight in this decade. And ISRO is already conducting preliminary studies on a Starship class rocket for beyond 2040.
      If you have even a modest background in Indian foreign policy and strategic culture, you'll realize very fast how little your definition of the word "obsolete" means nothing to India.

One small correction: the astronauts are gettinng their masters from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore rather than Indian Institute of Technology which is also famous as IIT. Actually, there is no IIT in bangalore. While IISc is the No.1 research institute in India with significant weightage when it comes to aerospace research worldwide. They are actually part of a special program and are not crediting the usual mandatory courses at IISc for completing their masters. Thanks to US that showed a huge resistance against Indian space program.
    It even cancelled the cryogenic engine deal with USSR back in 80s.
    Then senator, joe biden saif it could be a dangerous move.
    On the other hand they kept supporting a military dictatorship called pakistan.
    ISRO itself had to develop a cryogenic engine indigenously that took around 15 years.
    Though Us provided cryogenic tech to japan and Israel, though they get bigger space budgets, still ISRO is more advanced in terms of space exploration.

    After India becomes a developed country, most probably by 2047, I would want all my Indian brothers and sisters to remembed and not forget all the hate comments and racism done on us by almost every country existing on earth. This will keep us down to earth and we ourselves won't troll the underdeveloped nations.

    It's scary to me. Because even though I keep for things to invest in in India. I'm aware many of the businesses and employees are not safety minded. Can't change people's minds toward living a long HEALTHY life without safety campaigns. But in any case, I love that there's more than Wealthy people and few other countries with significant SpacePrograms. Good luck India.

    "Geocentric, Low Earth Orbit?" As apposed to a Mars-centric, Low Earth Orbit? Did AI right this? Maybe you could have it add "success," "teamwork," or "synergy" into the sentences to get more buzzwords in there.
