Thanks for explaining this to Barret. If not, I would have. It just proves that there is more education needed to explain this MOAT about battery swap and BAAS is a sustainable longterm business model. There is a reason why a series of partnerships deals are announced with NIO battery swap technology, more partnerships are coming and swap will become the standard in China with NIO’s tech. Also the safety check of batteries will come into play when your battery is deemed unsafe, you as EV owner will have a problem, unless you have an EV that can swap batteries. Not to mention that NIO has the largest charging infrastructure in China, super/fast charging + swap stations. More than all other EV brands combined.

Battery swap is just an added advantage. Customers can also charge the battery. Buying a battery upfront may be a costly solution if the lithium price doubles in the next 2 years. It’s like an on-premise data center and cloud solution. 75% of companies have moved to subscription-based cloud solutions. Just buying a car without a battery may seem nonsensical now, but it will ultimately be the best solution. Today’s lithium price will not last longer.

By the look of the range and style of Chinese built cars have come of age! I feel before long many of these players will be no more under the fierce competition environment! More so for Western made cars where they can't compete !
We in the West are looking at our future here. I read The latest EVs have a battery life expectancy of 15-20 years so the battery swap options is not an important consideration. I love the look of the jeep style jetour T1 and T2, the interiors look very comfortable and good to the eye. I actually like the small Citycar.
19:18: definitely most brands will disappear, as history will probably repeat itself. You know there used to be a hundred US auto makers last century? But on the other hand, I think some Chinese brands will survive and replace some of the European and Japanese brands. Who knows. The Europeans really need to catch up on EVs
NIO's advantage with battery swapping is the ability to easily exchange battery packs without worrying about battery degradation issues. You can purchase the smallest 75 kWh battery pack for daily commuting at the lowest price. You can also charge it at home like other electric cars. However, if you occasionally need to travel long distances, you can go to a battery swapping station and rent a 100 kWh battery pack with a range of 600 km or a 150 kWh battery pack with a range of 1000 km for $20-30 per day! WOW!
Thanks ,E.S.9.....👍 Full sized needs to make a comeback . E.C.7….....👍. Nice sized cars with lag room , that's great 👍. Price: (okay not priced yet❣️) Thanks for sharing.😊❤
Agree. My Buick Verano 2017 become a fossil when compared to those EVs. I plan to buy a new car in two years and I'm curious about what will the EVs be like then.
Battery swap has tonnes of advantages, better experience (no need to get out the car, managed line up etc.), battery health check, upgradable, no need to worry about battery life and the list goes on. And for supercharge, you won't achieve the max speed if someone is charging next to you and shares the voltage, and I don't foresee it being massively deployed because the load to the electric grid is just insane. In contrast, battery swap is grid friendly and can help balance the grid. And the 1000km batteries? These are born for swap, can supercharge charge 1000km in 3 mins? Additionally, 1000km batteries are very expensive and currently make sense only if you're renting them. Only battery swapping allows you to rent these high-capacity batteries temporarily when you need them.
32:03 Mansory is a German luxury auto modification brand. They modified cars. So the one you see is a real G wagon that's been modified by the Mansory and so does the Lorinser, It's also a German car modification specialist
Germany's Mansory used to have really awful over the top bodykit for whichever cars that they touched. Lorinser was doing MB last time, just like Brabus, Carlsson and AMG... I am surprised even they are looking East and doing the Chinese EV? But it could be a big market... I dunno, but seems of late, extravagantly done up after market parts for the cars, or even whole, seems to be not in fashion, I dunno, correct me if I'm wrong. It's totally not necessary in the world of EV, changing a new one every 2 or 3 yrs.
Battery swap is amazing....this is another option for 'recharging'. As well you get the rent the battery and buy the car. Another nicety is that the car keeps its value as you can keep your car and just keep updating the 'engine'
IM Motors (Chinese: 智己汽车, in your video from 54:23) is an electric vehicle joint venture between Chinese automobile manufacturer SAIC Motor (i.e., Shanghai Motor, 54%) and Chinese technology companies Zhangjiang Hi-Tech (18%) and Alibaba Group (18%).
Battery swap is still by far the most convenient way of charging. Battery swapping also allows you to have a battery that will never degrade. That is the biggest downside to EV cars. Nio bypasses that huge concern.
You have a point with Battery degradation, But I dont think its most convenient, as they are way way way more fast charging stations than there are NIO swap stations.
@@BarrettYT Amazing to talk to you. I have been watching you for several years and you are a real hero that world needs. I have driving EV since 2015 and done more than 250000 miles in them. Both my cars have been EVs since 2018. I have seen the ever more impressive numbers constantly churned out by manufacturers as to how fast it charges etc. The reality is when you are doing long journeys as I do regularly the maximum charge speed is just that. The max. Majority of charging is less than that and the last few fews gained take longer than anything. To come to a charger and then to get out and plug and sit in your car for atleast 20mins (to nearly full charge) will never be less than that because of the variable speed it will get charged and come out to take the plug out is seriously tedious and one I could do without. The idea of just coming somewhere and staying in the car and 5 mins later you have a fully charged battery for your continued long journey (and not a compromised due to trying to finish with OK amount in a shorter time) would be amazing. I know has options for both (they have more proprietary charging stations than any other car company and already has over 2400 swap stations in China). If they can bring that to the UK then I am definitely on board.
@@71Hamed Charging in China is the most convenient, because charging stations are everywhere, but NIO swap stations is the most efficient and elegant way to replenish energy。Thank you for your recognition and support of NIO's business model. By the end of the year, NIO will have more than 3,600 swap stations in China。
It's better to invest in technology today than to wait for tomorrow. What if the lithium price doubles in the next 2 years? It is difficult for consumers to spend money upfront and buy an EV. NIO will be the only company to survive in such a case. These days, no one is building a data center to host applications available in the cloud. It’s all not about charging speed.
4:42 Recently, NIO has opened a lot of battery swap stations. There are two within one kilometer of my home. The time to replace the battery is still much faster than charging, so each one has its own advantages. If you drive to a small city, you won’t find a battery swap station. Of course, it also supports fast charging!
IM L6 (a sub-brand of SAIC for EVs, IM --> Intelligent Me or Intelligent Myself), is actually one of the best available on the market now. It has the first model with a range of over 1000 kms. 0-100 < 3s. And fast charging,15 minutes 500 kms. The big wide screen is very useful, the car has a city tour mode, the screen pops up with all the information about the business on the roadside.
I "pulled-the-trigger" here in the Philippines on a Brighton Blue 2024 SAIC MG5. It is badged here in the Philippines as the MG GT Sport Turbo. A beautifully designed fastback-style sport sedan.
Battery Swap is much more than fast recharging times! It's convenience, flexibility and it's sustainable in the way that the batteries are charged at 40kW and the stations are used to sabilize the power grid's frequency. NIO is a premium brand and it's premium to have the option to swap in a certain situation.

The man in the YangWang SUV, like as though even if the ceiling collapse down on the car he will not be moving his butt. Lol.
Damn, I really want the MG Cyberster.
We need to check out Nio booth :).
Such a great episode so in-depth. Thank you so much!
China EVs shows is amazingly impressive modern stylish ❤
This reminds me of mobile phones from Asia...different designs ...
I'm sure they have a fast turnaround for manufacturing...
Brother in law bought his new BYD Seal 3.8s and he loves it. I am getting into the queue for either a BYD or MG or Ora.... Very eager...
I love the Ora's...

Made in China vehicles are for the future 🇨🇳🇨🇳🇨🇳❤️❤️❤️
The average consumer visiting an auto show. Well, yes…we know you are not a car reviewer, obviously. 😉
Mansory and Lorinser are customizers - they mostly sell body panel modifications. That G wagon was a Merc with a Mansory body kit.
Thanks for the info.
It's totally not necessary in the world of EV, changing a new one every 2 or 3 yrs.
thank you very much for your videos 👍 📹 😊 😀 ☺️ 🙂 👍
My pleasure 😊
classic episode, so much first hand information, thanks Lee!
Maxus are becoming a big seller in Hong Kong, along with BYD.
Thanks for the informative and interesting video. Really enjoyed watching it.
Bye bye Tesla! Chinese cars are absolutely amazing these days
800V platform quick charging is a much better plan.
BYD released the most innovative Yunnian-Z suspension system two days ago, it is amazing!
4:42 Recently, NIO has opened a lot of battery swap stations. There are two within one kilometer of my home. The time to replace the battery is still much faster than charging, so each one has its own advantages. If you drive to a small city, you won’t find a battery swap station. Of course, it also supports fast charging!
蔚来设计是真到位了👍
IM L6 (a sub-brand of SAIC for EVs, IM --> Intelligent Me or Intelligent Myself), is actually one of the best available on the market now. It has the first model with a range of over 1000 kms. 0-100 < 3s. And fast charging,15 minutes 500 kms. The big wide screen is very useful, the car has a city tour mode, the screen pops up with all the information about the business on the roadside.
Great Job
Incredible work
I "pulled-the-trigger" here in the Philippines on a Brighton Blue 2024 SAIC MG5.
It is badged here in the Philippines as the MG GT Sport Turbo.
A beautifully designed fastback-style sport sedan.
Very nice indeed. Hope you enjoy it .
EV is here to stay. I wonder what the resaleable EV will be in the future.
Eagerly awaiting your part 2...
Hello, part 2 was released.
@@BarrettYT I watched. Love it. Thank you.
I really like MG cyberster and xiaomi SU7 hope they come to Malaysia someday😢
Loved that golden paint!
INC❤❤RED❤❤ABLE❤❤
Battery Swap is much more than fast recharging times! It's convenience, flexibility and it's sustainable in the way that the batteries are charged at 40kW and the stations are used to sabilize the power grid's frequency. NIO is a premium brand and it's premium to have the option to swap in a certain situation.
i like the IM L6,its amazing
This is real
I love MG cyberster, EV with 580Km range, only cost about 48K USD
My god so many brands ,no wonder they say competition in China is ridiculous fierce.
This is not all of them, more coming in part 2
Wow, China is catching up fast..
I think with EVs the US, Germans, French, Japan and S korea needs to catch up with China.
似乎没有车模,这才是车展,·挺好的。
这是媒体日,全是媒体所以没有车模,等观众开放日,就有车模了😅😅

北京車展場地太大了,走來走去腿軟了,還好有些車子可以進去坐一下
气色越来越好!
I saw your channel in today's headlines in China, and I can still see your channel here.😂😂
I’m in and I saw you last time at Guangzhou expiation fair , Chinese factory made everything the best way but not yet to get some EV outside of Chinese market, I am having my own shop doing direct sales. My father and I by myself we invested a lot of money since 2001 , we have the qualifications export license, this ev can’t export until we get approval from government of China
Merc, BMW, Audi, GM and Ford execs are in the corner scratching their heads. Wondering where and when they dropped the ball on EVs
Subscribed, thanks for your sharing
bye bye america😂😂😂😂😂
China is the leader in auto production❤
Have or did you ask if all the portrait screens which seem to immediately put the car down in your opinion if it has a touch button which turns it into landscape ????
I love all of them but I think Tesla is the best. I like NIO a lot too. Haven’t seen either one yet. 🤔
Tesla is not on the Beijing auto show.
