I just bought some of that airline tubing. I like it way better than the typical clear plastic stuff! Look forward to seeing how it holds up in my hard water.
Just want to say this is food grade pvc, not silicone. It says that on their site and I inquired with them to see if that was right, it is. I would think carefully before switching everything over to that. pvc tubing hardens and will discolor under several different conditions with exposure to acids, bases, oils, chemicals and other natural contaminates found in every fish tank. It is a good deal if you like that stuff, it has always harden and discolored in my tanks before, it is still functional. I switched to silicon, seems to last forever without the negatives.
Which brand of silicone airline tubing? We thought we also had to have "silicone" when we went to different manufacturers, they said they didn't know of anyone who did silicone because it was too expensive and most companies just called food grade pvc silicone. You can see this when people use it with ozone and there are problems.
@@AquariumCoop I bought generic food safe silicone tubing from ebay couple of years ago when I got sick of my air tubing going stiff, it's still as flexible as when I bought it. It's clear and hasn't discoloured or anything either.
@@AquariumCoop Penn Plax Deluxe Silicone Flexible Airline Tubing. It is made from flexible silicone that's a light green hue that virtually disappears when in water. This tubing will never harden, crack, or kink, making it the easiest airline tubing to use. That is from their website. Money back if it ever fails. I bought a 200 foot roll, You have to get the deluxe, it's more expensive, their standard stuff will discolor and harden. I worked in labs for 20 years, they make silicon tubing. You need to find different manufactures, because someone lied to you. I have used this stuff outdoors too for at least 7 years and it looks the same as the day I bought it, 105 to -15 degrees. Hey I would be happy to try some of your stuff out and use it on a few of my 18 tanks and 9 ponds and report back next spring how it held up if you want to send me some lol. I'm not saying theirs is 100 percent silicon, I bet it's close for how well it holds up. FDA Food, medical and laboratory grade silicon tubing in this size sells for 50 cent to a dollar a foot. But those companies are always selling stuff at way higher prices to the labs and hospitals then you or I would pay thru retail because they don't shop around. It's like the govnt buying 2 dollar nails.
I have super soft water and my regular old standard air line tubing doesn't take long to harden up. I bought some clear silicone tubing which did stay flexible but it still gets nasty looking on the inside. I'm planning on switching to the black soon. My fish racks are in the repurposed dining room so all visitors go look at them.
I was wondering does anyone know how this tubing from aquarium co-op compares with the Fluval Bkack Max Airline Tubing 6metres A1142? As I live in the UK and can't afford to/ it is not possible to get a hold of the airline tubing that is shown here in this video clip from aquarium co-op so am trying to find out what is the best alternative. Thank you.
@@WeldonTanks cool thanks. The regulator I bought came with co2 tubing. I’ll probably use it anyways it’s just not as flexible as the aquarium coop tube I got for my air pump.
Awesome Trent. Look slick in Coop Merchandise 😎😎😎😎😎 Can you use it for water flow ? Would you be using it for the fry breeding setup like Master Dean setup?

My favorite is the Python Airline. If you need a clear one, the quality is very similar. Tube is very flexible and guaranteed to not yellow
Completely agree
That is good to know! I actually did not know that python made an airline
Basically the only airline I can find around me for a reasonable price.

Thank you for explaining calcification on tubing. It is a problem here in N.H.Hsrd water.
Silicone tubing is the answer.

Bought some of this last month and I agree this tubing is just awesome. All I will use from now on.
One of those things that after you use it you see the value of it.
I too have this airline, and it's amazing!
I bought 2 from the coop after I saw you showing this up close. I have some that looks similar but it was way more expensive
Glad it helped! I am still pleased with this airline
Just checking so you can use the aquarium coop tube for co2 also?
Yes you can. I have used regular air line for co2 in the past with no issue. The tubing “rated” for co2 in my opinion is not worth the cost

I will have to try this!! I hate stiff airline tubing. 😊😊😊
I agree, so far this has been the best in flexibility.
could of been a less than 2 minute review, somehow you got this to 8 minutes, lol
Skills
Awesome Trent.

You could use it for water flow. I will be using a small length to attach to a rigid tube.
Nice! I'll have to get some next time I order from them
One of those things that after you use it you realize the quality. And you can't argue the price for the amount.
To put airline to the test you have to try it outside in full sun
I may have to set up a mini mini pond for some testing then.
@@WeldonTanks the sun will truly test if it hardens or not
an how expensive to ship if I may ask?
If you are in the states I think shipping is $7 or free with orders of $100. The Co Op does not ship internationally do to cost.
Let me know your visited famous farm name
Why is this guy comparing co2 tubing to airline tubing
This guy never said anything about “co2 tubing”. Both tubing are “airline” tubing....
