I get being keen to have more than 2 strikers a la prime Fergie days as well, but for now striker would be 4th maybe 5th position in line for an upgrade, behind CB, LB, RB, DM and RW.
He’s a £40-55m player imo. English, PL experience, European experience, plus there’s a shortage of good full backs. However the issue is that clubs know he’s not first choice at United which knocks a good chunk off his price
The upper end of teams do not use a defensive rightback they expect creativity and buildup ball play and wanbissaka cant do that. He also falls asleep on the back post 3+ times a year and it results in goals.
I wanted Mazraoui to come when we signed ETH as the manager. He was transfer free at that time and then went to Bayern. He and Antony were a good combo on the right for Ajax. I'm worried about United's ongoing obsession with Dutch or Eredivisie players because that won't end well. No way Simons will come and the quoted 90m Euros is more than double what he is worth. He is decent, but not great. Also can't see Toney coming after we already signed Zirkzee. Fofana is just another option for the midfield along with Ugarte & Zubimendi if we manage to sell Casemiro.
Don’t understand why we focusing on a striker and a RB, while RW should clearly be a priority. Amad is our only hope on the right, and he is yet to prove is consistency over a season (our other current options are Antony, who is useless, and Sancho, who would most likely be leaving)
I think he is. He scored goals and he would get the best out of Rashford and Bruno with his link play. He can play in a 2 as well which could help Hojlund and Zirkzee
