Oh yess, maybe I’ll make a separate video on kind of credit cards to get. I don’t recommend having more than 2 credit cards and no retail cards atall (Walmart, Canadian Tire, etc)
Do you need credit history when you have 20 to 50% down-payment for a mortgage? Do you need a credit score when you want to buy your car and pay in full, cash?
Thanks for sharing. My question pls. I have brother who came into Canada late last year. Not working yet as his work permit is not out as a refugee claimant. Should he file for tax as well?
Very informative, but please watch your words. People don’t “choose” to declare world income. It is the law, they have to declare all income they made the year they came to Canada. coming from a tax accountant.
U file next year. By april 30 if you owe tax otherwise anytime ... be aware its income and benefits return.. so one misses on benefits too if not filed
Hi dearie. Am an ardent fan of you. How do I file my tax? Am a student , came in November and from my part time employment, deductions are made. Do I still need to? Please can you tell me how?
Rule number one. Dont get a credit card as a new immigrant to Canada. Get a bank account, yes, but you need to know what you are doing. Banks will mess you up. Also dont come to Canada without figuring outnyour living situation. Dont bring family here if you have no place to live. Especially little kids. As you will be forced to go into credit. Or you will be forced to go into your savings. And whatever you do... Buy things fully in cash where you can. Especially your car. The only exception is a home where you need to have at least 20% downpayment (or more). If you are still young with no kids. Then try to be financially ok, before having a family. Debt is slavery and you lose. A 50-70k car new car costs 100-140k or more over 7-8 years of financing. Home is similar. And bills bills bills. So be wise.
Thanks for sharing but I beg to differ on the subject of not getting a credit card. People need to use credit as a tool to build their finances not as debt. That mindset in itself changes a lot of things
It’s like you’re sending a summary of all the income you made during the previous year to the government and they calculate how much taxes you should pay on it. When you file your taxes you’d find out if you’re owing or you get a refund
@@WhizQueen alright, thanks a lot. I think I understand better now, I'm sure most of these things will be clearer when I begin doing them. More like learning while doing what you're exactly. 👍🏾
@WhizQueen, another question pls. If a family wants to relocate to Canada through PR, do the 2 people, husband and wife need to write IELTS or just the main applicant?
Nice. But Bisola 4-5years you started living by yourself ke😂? Is this not our 5th year in Canada? I think that is overexagerrated. If anyone can live in a condo in 1year after they arrive, they should do so. Comfort is key to maintaining a well balance mental health.
I was living alone mid way in my 1st year but it was a basement, my first condo I had a roommate before I got my own condo. I agree with what you’re saying but it depends on individual goals. With the situation of rent cost right now I think having a roommate is not so bad to help save on rent but if you need your own space for your mental health it’s understandable.

Hi what’s the period typically for this current tax filing season and do I need to file taxes if I come in this month?
Usually end of Feb-Apr 30 is considered tax season. Remember tax filing for the current year is due April 30 of the next year
U file next year. By april 30 if you owe tax otherwise anytime
... be aware its income and benefits return.. so one misses on benefits too if not filed

Can you put money into your credit account without spending it, would that help to build your credit score?
Yes, you can add money on your credit card to spend. It will work as an over payment on the card.
Rule number one. Dont get a credit card as a new immigrant to Canada. Get a bank account, yes, but you need to know what you are doing. Banks will mess you up. Key word. Debt is slavery.
Car interest doesnt make a 50k car.. a 100k
Beauty 😍 and brains 🧠 😊
@WhizQueen, what does it mean to file your taxes? I didn't quite understand
