Both are still wrong science doesn’t concern itself as long as it gives the right answer who cares about what is actually ontological real.

@@JR-iu8yl I enjoy watching the regular “Joe” asking questions to these astrophysicists, because me as an average person would be asking the same type of things, the problem is they don’t accept Neil’s interruptions because he is so passionate about spreading his knowledge that he won’t let you speak nonsense once he gets going, but to the average “Joe”, he will pass as an interrupting arrogant person… I mean, Rogan himself is an anti-vaxe, so I can’t expect much from his audience. That's what a lot of people not get:
In science, it's (mostly) not 'Oh we were completely wrong and have now this absolute new absolute unrelated theory'.
    Theories get refined.
It's like finding parts of a mosaic under the sand. The more you search the more you uncover, draw new lines, find new images - but the initial pieces are still there and part of the whole.
There are exceptions, because of course there are.

By approximating the kinetic energy in the special relativity theory using something called a taylor serious, the first equation of the series (of infinite equations) is the basic kinetic energy.
The second already needs the speed to be close to the speed of light in order to be able to measure it. Nobody could have known that, because it couldn't be measured.

Another amazing thing about special relativity is it actually explains how electricity and magnetism are the EXACT same phenomenon, just in different moving reference frames.
If you have a still point charge and measure it, you’ll find that it produces an electric field but no magnetic field. But if you measure it in a relativistic reference frame (ie moving fast enough that the effects of special relativity come into play), then you’ll actually measure a magnetic field too.
Electric and magnetic fields are the exact same thing, just in different reference frames.

Best example of this that most people will be familiar with is the cosine law. When the angle is 90 aka a right angle it just becomes the Pythagorean theorem

The cool part, is how it breaks down. Gravity is the curvature of space-time. Now, space-time is one thing not two separate things, however you can calculate them separately. It turns out that the effects of gravity as we mostly encounter it, is just the curvature of time. In other words time dilation, red shift, etc. The curvature of space doesn’t really kick in until you get to extreme speeds or intense gravity as said in the video. So the Apple “falls” to the ground, the moon orbits the earth, etc primarily because of time dilation or the curvature of time. The curvature of space, and the curvature of time are equal. But we travel through time at the speed of light so if you are traveling at normal speed, you don’t cover much space but you travel a lot of time.

Sounds about right except for time dilation. It refers to two objects travelling at different velocities experiences time different to another and relative to their velocity. Isn’t very relevant here other for the fact it has time in it. General relativity in a nutshell says time and space if a 4d fabric and it has curvatures as you would when mass is applied to a fabric. That is gravity, the acceleration caused by the curvature of the space time fabric we’re riding on for some reason.

What he said at the end, means that Einstein’s equations DO replace Newton’s laws, while also drawing a bigger circle. I mean, technically, Newton’s laws pop out at that limit, but the important thing is that Einstein’s theory doesn’t get feedback from Newton’s laws, they naturally reduce to those, and therefore yes, it is a replacement and a sanity check that reality still works the way we believed it to work (in the regime of Newton).
