Hah, I did something similar with silicone spray dry lubricant. Dr. Pulley sliders helped my scooter the most in terms of performance per dollar. I had to get some different sliders once I got a Malossi variator kit, but sliders in general are a good upgrade with a digital scale to 0.1 grams or 0.01 grams and some aluminum foil to add weight if needed to match the RPMs you want to get with a small engine inductive tachometer for about $15 wrapped around the spark plug wire. It sure was a pain to get the tools and knowledge to get to the variator. Just warn people if they don't install the belt properly with the variator nut tightened, they can damage the splines on the crankshaft, which is really really expensive to fix if worn through.

      @tenders ปีที่แล้ว

I would use that and any other lubricant you use in the transmission case very sparingly...if at all! When the teflon migrates onto the belt and clutch pads it isn't going to do anything good. I have never seen any manufacturer suggest this.

Hey Mitch I haven't commented in a while but thanks for the nice informative video as always 👍, that Blaster Dry Lube is exactly what I used when I installed a new variator, clutch, belt, and Dr. pulley sliders 4 years ago on my Helix. I haven't gone too many miles since then but I'm thinking about doing an inspection and reassembly of the CVT during the cold winter months here on the east coast just to be ready and reliable for any future rides.

    Hello,
Thank you very much for this very educational video.
Question: since my belt broke, then replaced, my Piaggio MP3 300 (2011) has a lot of trouble starting. When it starts, it works fine, but I can stall at idle and come in pushing!
    Do you have any ideas?

Sadly I’m stumped and can’t find any details as to why my rear brake light / running light doesn’t function as intended / running light stays on: Brake light doesn’t trigger when brakes are applied. Both brake compress buttons have also been replaced wth new. Any help is appreciated !

    • @MitchsScooterStuff

Anytime Nick! Yes it makes difference... smooth acceleration, lower RPM at high speed :)

I saw on another video where they used powdered graphite for the dry lube so I wondered which was best. TH-cam has another video comparing the Blaster Dry Lube and the Blaster GRAPHITE Dry Lube. They said that the regular dry lube is easily removed whereas the Graphite Dry Lube has to be removed with alcohol or mineral spirits. Makes me think that perhaps the Graphite stuff might be better?

Hello Mitch, I’m following you because I think your videos are very helpful, however, I’m confused about one thing, I have an lovely Piaggio Vespa LX125 but but it starts hard and doesn't accelerate quickly... what should I do? should I change the transmission belt? and regarding the rollers, what weight should I fit to have a faster acceleration?
Thank you in advance for all your support! You’re a great guy! Keep up the great work!

    • @sirelbey

Lighter weights less centrifugal force higher revs mor accel heavier weights less centrifugal force needed to move them up the ramp more top speed less acceleration hard starts no acceleration can be coil going bad spark plug going bad make sure everything is connected and that you changed the gear oil and engine oil cleaned the air filter 1 to 2 main jet sizes will make it start faster

that’s interesting, I wonder if it would be OK to do that in a GY6 engine because I was thinking about doing different upgrades to the CVT system for a little bit more performance without engine mods because I don’t wanna wreck the motor

Would doing this slider upgrade and a new belt (stock or aftermarket?) help top end speed? I currently hit 32 mph and feels like I’m hitting a speed limiter, pulsates faster to slow then faster again. I’m hoping this might help fix it?

Hey! I have tried out the Dr Pulleys a bit. My conclusion was that in a stock variators they are superior over rollers. In highly developed variators like Polini and Malossi it did not work so good. The Malossi could not gear up fully, the belt did nog go up all the way. On the Polini it got a bump in the middle, like shifting a gear, not as stepless as a variator should be. However, the plastic Dr. uses are really good quality. Do they also make rounds in same material? The scooters I tried on was 2 different "50cc+" engines, one GY6 and one water cooled 2-stroke. I also tried cheap knock-offs, the shape was identical but the material was not close to as good.
The dry lube you use seems interesting. I need to try that. The brand you are using are hard to get here in sweden. Will any dry lube work better than nothing?

Hello everyone, i want to increase the performance of my motorcycle a little more, I ordered dr Pulley performance roller and original bando strap. While the original rollers were 13gr, I bought a 12gr performance roller to speed up the takeoff. While the original size of the strap was 721x18.5x30, I mistakenly ordered a 722x18.5x30 strap. After installing the new 722x18.5x30 belt and performance rollers, the engine started to run very jerkily and its performance decreased compared to its original state.
Let's get to the real question, I don't think I will have any problems due to the performance rollers because everyone who uses these rollers states that the performance has improved significantly and the engine runs more stable. It even saves fuel. Could using 722 belt instead of 721 make the engine more jerky and cause a decrease in performance?
Sorry if there is any wrong wording, I wrote it using Google translate.

Sounds like you didn't do your research and used weights that were too light if stock is 5gram roller weights you have to add a gram when switch to slider weights or you will Wind out your engine by rev ing too high especially if you also have a cdi that removes the rev limiter
