To clarify why Adrien going for a kiss isn’t him being a total creep: In some countries including France air kissing or lightly someone on one or both cheeks is an affectionate but platonic greeting. This is trying to make going for a cheek kiss look like going for a lip kiss to play with expectations because the show assumes the audience will see a Parisian going for a cheek kiss as standard. Adrien does this occasionally as he’s trying to open up with people.

Actually I love that they reversed the love square because it feels like a step forward. So the problem with the original love square (in my mind) is that they're both 'in love' with the idealized versions of each other. I'm not entirely convinced that that's real love because you're only interested in the good parts of that person, but flipping the square allows them to fall in love with the not idealized version of each other. That seems kind of important if this is ever going to be a real relationship.

Honestly Natalie getting mad at Gabriel because of his obsession with Ladybug and Chat Nior is so good. I hate this season a whole lot but I really like Natalie finally being fed up with Gabriel because I have been since Season 4. Edit: The reason Natalie is still working woth Gabriel is because she's trying to protect Gabriel from Adrien. She knows Gabriel is willing to hurt Adrien in order to complete his goal so she's sticking around to make sure that doesn't happen.
I love being able to see people's true character in small things like this. Marinette also kissed adrien on the cheek something that the youtuber should remember if they watch miraculous ladybug. Chloe did the same thing to Marinette. I swear the double standard almost hurts
8:50 YES! I have thought of an AU where Natalie betrays Hawkmoth/Gabriel and takes Adrien away to protect him. She would be a surrogate mother figure who actually gives a shit about him. She would also tell him the truth about his father, leading to Adrien having to choose between his father's goal of bringing back his mom or his and Ladybug's goal of keeping Paris safe. He may even reveal his identity to Natalie, leading her to feel remorseful for ever fighting against him, especially when it also led to her injuries. They would probably team up in the end to trick or force Gabriel into giving up all the Miraculous, possibly using blackmail that would tell the world that he is Hawkmoth.
I will admit I love how MariChat works compared to LadyNoir, mainly because it changes the plot from a generic teen romance into a Shakespearean tragedy where the two realize the dangers of loving each other. For Marinette, she can't be honest with Cat Noir and it feels like she's lying to him, which causes her conflict. For Adrien, however, it's the classic "keep your identity a secret" conundrum where Marinette knowing may put her in danger, with the dramatic irony that we know she and Ladybug are one and the same. I honestly need to catch up on this show. Considering I dropped off during season 3 and never watched season 4, with the juicy twists in season 5 part of me wants to see where things go, especially for the season finale since it's clear Hawkmoth isn't gonna be our main antag for much longer.
I have such a hate-love relationship with Gabe (Gabriel/Hawkmoth), like what he's done/doing is horrible but also it's so funny to see him on screen that I can't take anything he does seriously enough to be mad at him XD

Another thing, I think the reason that Marinette told chat to use the rabbit miraculous might be because she has some kind of trauma from using it in the season 4 ending
The plot hole 12:41 is actually not a plot hole because Monarch uses the akumatized villains to draw out the superhero's and causes large amounts of destruction just to get Ladybug and Cat Noir's attention. But if they destroy the Ladybug earrings and the Black Cat ring then they can't use Ladybug's ability to fix everything in Paris. Meanwhile Monarch will keep trying to get their attention by destroying Paris. We know Monarch would be willing to destroy Paris because in the United Heroez Special, Back when Monarch was Hawk Moth, almost started a WW3 by launching a nuke with FULL knowledge of what he was doing. So this is why the hero's can't destroy their Miraculous. Byyyyyyyeeeeeeee
Marichat sailing and sinking in the same episode was bittersweet. Also I swear in season one or season two they said that a miraculous jewel could only be destroyed by Chat Noir's cataclysm because they were "too strong" but I've also seen all the seasons 7 times while i am cooking and cleaning because my kid is obessessed with this show. 😂 don't get me wrong, i like it too, but I also have a house to run. 😂😂😂
5:17 the kiss is just a way of saying hello, here in latin america we also do that, doesn't matter if we don't even know each other. I mean we don't do it to everyone on the street but when you are on a reunion or something we do that.
The miraculous also act as a limiter on the power of the kwami. Think about the various backlashes that happened when they used their power without a holder and multiply it by 100. Plagg canonically is the cause of dinosaurs going extinct. So destroying the miraculous would stop people from using their power, it would also leave their power unchecked.
As someone who dropped off of ML like mid season 3, this shit has gotten absolutely wild!!! Does it explain why the miraculous can hold the Kwami even after it’s been broken down? It’s it the type of mineral or something? I always thought it had something to do with the Kwami attaching themselves to the jewelry voluntarily so shouldn’t that contract be gone once the object is destroyed? Or is this another thing that they don’t really explain and we’re just supposed to roll with??? They’re usually used for solving big problems supernatural or otherwise and the infighting seems to be a more recent development. Like if they destroy the miraculous the army or a hero from another area would have to deal with threats like the flying dinosaurs or major disasters. You can watch the rest of the season on youtube, the ones that aren’t released yet are on french tv channels and they recorded them in french with english subtitles. These episodes are the best episodes from the whole show. None of the other episodes even compete with them. They are everything we’ve been waiting for, trust me.
It honestly feels like too much development was packed into this season that should have been present in previous seasons. I’ve also watched ahead and have seen more of the upcoming episodes, and it gets WILD.
I think I have a problem, cause every time I see Marinette or Adrian angst over how their love cant be in either superhero or civilian life all I can think is "Yes yes, cry, cry your little tears muahahahahahaaha!!!" This show has ruined me.
Thing about the Miraculous: the kwami wanted to interact with the world, but couldn't until they were given a physical connection when the Miraculous were made in China centuries ago. This is explained only in the comics.
12:38 so, from what i understand from the lore, the kwamii are cosmic beings which have existed since the beginning. the miraculouses just allow them to take physical forms and share their powers with humans. so if the miraculouses were destroyed, then the kwamii and their powers would still exist, but would be unable to be harnessed by humans.
The love (square? triangle?) shifting felt rushed but I can acknowledge that it was good it happened. I just wish they would of had her either be over Adrien for a bit longer (and not have her blatantly ignore that he seems into her) and then eventually develop feelings for Chat Noir instead, or they could have shown more of an inner conflict with which of the two she likes. Either way I think it was a good arc, it was just a bit too short to me.
You should read the comics, it talks about the past and how the miraculous were created 'n all that stuff! I'm holding spoilers here, but it answers some of your questions.
After watching this I opened my DisneyNow app just to take a looksy, and it seems like they're putting the movie on a slow burner cause they came out with a few more episodes I think in the past 2 days XDXDXD, can't wait to see how the rest of the season plays out, and I hope Marinette makes up her mind, cause she knows dating chat isn't a possibility on top of keeping her miraculous, she already made that risk and it didn't go so well.

I think it was for a ring because then it'll be hip and something you can have in addition to your phone- plus it aligns with the rings that Hawk Moth/Monarch has. Also, a phone not everyone is willing to get a new one with a new brand since they like their phone but accessories for their phone? Extra stuff? Maybe yes!
All these years later I still wish this show was actually 2d animated and was in an anime style like it was pitched … this could have been like shugo Chara I was so looking forward to it

Season 5 is so good I love that Adrien finally falls for Marinette and I loved that Adrien is standing up to his dad. I love that I get to see Felix's peacock transformation. And I like that Marinette gets to have a crush on Cat noir. I also call Gabriel Hawkmoth a lot because I'm used to it. I loved that Alix finally got the rabbit miraculous and I loved the transformation that she showed. And Natalie standing up to Gabriel was great.

Even if the Miraculous were destroyed, the Qwamis would still exist. If the Qwamis use their powers without a miraculous, disaster ensues. There being a miraculous for each Qwami ads a layer of protection there
Actually, he does have the most overpowered miraculous. He has the rooster miraculous. For some reason, the miraculous of the rooster is more overpowered than the ladybug, and the ladybug is the miraculous of our main character

Okay, here's the deal with destroying the Miraculous: According to the wiki, the kwamis are born when their concept or idea comes into existence, and an old warlock forged the Miraculous to bind the kwamis' power to because they were too dangerous to be left free and the Miraculous contained their power somehow. So Gabriel only destroyed and reformed the containers, not the powers. And yes, apparently the kwamis are required to exist.
I feel like MariChat is a good ship because they can talk to each other normally without having to put up a front.

The miraculous also act as a limiter on the power of the kwami. Think about the various backlashes that happened when they used their power without a holder and multiply it by 100. Plagg canonically is the cause of dinosaurs going extinct. So destroying the miraculous would stop people from using their power, it would also leave their power unchecked.

As someone who dropped off of ML like mid season 3, this shit has gotten absolutely wild!!! Does it explain why the miraculous can hold the Kwami even after it’s been broken down? It’s it the type of mineral or something? I always thought it had something to do with the Kwami attaching themselves to the jewelry voluntarily so shouldn’t that contract be gone once the object is destroyed? Or is this another thing that they don’t really explain and we’re just supposed to roll with???

12:31 Kwami need to exist Miraculouses are basically just like a symbol of contracts where the kwami gets to interact with the real world in exchange for power and loss of absolute freedom. They’re usually used for solving big problems supernatural or otherwise and the infighting seems to be a more recent development. Like if they destroy the miraculous the army or a hero from another area would have to deal with threats like the flying dinosaurs or major disasters.

You can watch the rest of the season on youtube, the ones that aren’t released yet are on french tv channels and they recorded them in french with english subtitles. These episodes are the best episodes from the whole show. None of the other episodes even compete with them. They are everything we’ve been waiting for, trust me.
It honestly feels like too much development was packed into this season that should have been present in previous seasons. I’ve also watched ahead and have seen more of the upcoming episodes, and it gets WILD.

Thing about the Miraculous: the kwami wanted to interact with the world, but couldn't until they were given a physical connection when the Miraculous were made in China centuries ago. This is explained only in the comics.

so, from what i understand from the lore, the kwamii are cosmic beings which have existed since the beginning. the miraculouses just allow them to take physical forms and share their powers with humans. so if the miraculouses were destroyed, then the kwamii and their powers would still exist, but would be unable to be harnessed by humans.

The love (square? triangle?) shifting felt rushed but I can acknowledge that it was good it happened. I just wish they would of had her either be over Adrien for a bit longer (and not have her blatantly ignore that he seems into her) and then eventually develop feelings for Chat Noir instead, or they could have shown more of an inner conflict with which of the two she likes. Either way I think it was a good arc, it was just a bit too short to me.

Season 5 is so good I love that Adrien finally falls for Marinette and I loved that Adrien is standing up to his dad. I love that I get to see Felix's peacock transformation. And I like that Marinette gets to have a crush on Cat noir. I also call Gabriel Hawkmoth a lot because I'm used to it. I loved that Alix finally got the rabbit miraculous and I loved the transformation that she showed. And Natalie standing up to Gabriel was great.

Even if the Miraculous were destroyed, the Qwamis would still exist. If the Qwamis use their powers without a miraculous, disaster ensues. There being a miraculous for each Qwami ads a layer of protection there

Okay, here's the deal with destroying the Miraculous:
According to the wiki, the kwamis are born when their concept or idea comes into existence, and an old warlock forged the Miraculous to bind the kwamis' power to because they were too dangerous to be left free and the Miraculous contained their power somehow. So Gabriel only destroyed and reformed the containers, not the powers. And yes, apparently the kwamis are required to exist.
