In todays video we check out the Mission District in San Francisco, California. Starting at 24th street we will make or way to Mission Street.
The Mission District
Named for the 1776-built Mission Dolores, the Mission District is an exuberant, evolving neighborhood with Latino roots and a hipster vibe. Old-school taquerias and eclectic live-music clubs mix with chef-driven eateries and craft cocktail lounges.

Chinatown is centered on Grant Avenue and Stockton Street in San Francisco, California, is the oldest Chinatown in North America and the largest Chinese enclave outside Asia. It is also the oldest and largest of the four notable Chinese enclaves within San Francisco. Union Square:
Union Square is a 2.6-acre public plaza bordered by Geary, Powell, Post and Stockton Streets in downtown San Francisco, California. "Union Square" also refers to the central shopping, hotel, and theater district that surrounds the plaza for several blocks.[citation needed] The area got its name because it was once used for Thomas Starr King rallies and support for the Union Army during the American Civil War, earning its designation as a California Historical Landmark. Today, this one-block plaza and surrounding area is one of the largest collections of department stores, upscale boutiques, gift shops, art galleries, and beauty salons in the United States, making Union Square a major tourist destination and a well-known gathering place in downtown San Francisco. Grand hotels and small inns, as well as repertory, off-Broadway, and single-act theaters also contribute to the area's dynamic, 24-hour character. The Dewey Monument is at the center of Union Square. It is a statue of Nike, the ancient Greek goddess of victory

North Beach (Little Italy)
Lombard Street's west end is at Presidio Boulevard inside The Presidio; it then heads east through the Cow Hollow neighborhood. For 12 blocks, between Broderick Street and Van Ness Avenue, it is an arterial road that is co-signed as U.S. Route 101. Lombard Street continues through the Russian Hill neighborhood and to the Telegraph Hill neighborhood. At Telegraph Hill it turns south, becoming Telegraph Hill Boulevard to Pioneer Park and Coit Tower. Lombard Street starts again at Winthrop Street and ends at The Embarcadero as a collector road.

I’ve lived in SF over 40 years, seeing it rise, fall, rise & fall again but The Mission has never really changed. It always was and remains a vibrant exciting neighborhood! Thanks for the view.

This comment! I’m originally from Northern California, now in NYC for the last 13 years. Before I left California, I lived in The Mission for a year and a half. It was a good time, SF was (is) beautiful. Something about all the negativity SF and California are currently getting makes me want to move back. I can just feel this video.
Mission District has changed. There are now some tents in the residential areas, though if you were to go looking for them in a specific street, they moved because that's what they do. I grew up there and even when gangs were on every block during the crack epidemic and when the Surenos arrived, it still wasn't this bad. Its bad.
I'm a graduate of Mission Dolores High School from 1969.
