Again with the Thomas thing. The NBA knew the Dream Team was going to win the gold medal.in a walk. The strategy was to present the team to the world in its best light. No one gave a damn about playing time. They all got along. You put Thomas on that team full of leaders and the first thing he does is try to insert his will. Chuck Daly was the coach. If he wanted his own point guard on that team seems like he would have put his foot down.
All that sounds great, but if the goal was to put together the greatest collection of players on a team that defines “dream team” there is no conceivable excuse to not have Isiah on there. From 88 to 92, he literally led his team to 3 straight NBA finals and back 2 back titles and a controversial Bill Lambier foul on Kareem in game 6 of the 88 finals from being the first team since Russell’s Celtics to win 3 in a row, before MJ, whom his team beat 3 years in a row in route to those finals appearances.
