Hi, i had a chance to ski these today in the 184 and enjoyed them in lots of different conditions. I wondered if you managed to play around with the binding mount point ( further back from recommended line) as i found the front of the ski to be a bit soft and maybe further back would give the ski a bit more balance.
Hey Jeff! Love this as well as all your other content. I'm deciding between these, the K2 Mindbender 89ti, and Stance 90 for a harder charging but still playful off-piste ski. I really like these Mavericks but I had some issues with just how light the Elan Ripstick 88's were (I'm 6'4" 220lbs and just didn't feel enough support). I know these are super light as well, but do you think the Ti sheets would help make these feel more stable and confidence inspiring than a Ripstick for me? Thanks in advance!
The metal matters for sure, and delivers a fair amount of stability to the ski per the weight. The Stance is a great choice too as they use a bit lighter of a core than they used to but still have two sheets of titanal. The K2's love shorter to mid-radius turns although I don't find them as versatile or well rounded as the Maverick, and certainly the Stance, which I find to be the most polyvalent of this grouping.
Great review as always! Really appreciate your content. I’m debating between this and the armada declivity 82 or 92. Looking for something to take out on frontside days when I don’t fancy my race skis or big mountains, but also something versatile enough to use when working as an instructor. From your experience, what would you recommend? Appreciate it :)
I'd go with the new 82 Ti. Smooth, precise, powerful, and with the same type of versatile nature of the wider skis, just in a slightly narrower format. Great in bumps, fun enough in trees, but very agile and high-performance on the groomers.
Hello, I am interested in these skis. I'm 45 years old 5'9 175 lb. intermediate to advanced skies out in Oregon. Should I get the 169cm or the 176cm? thanks!
