- Norfolk Southern Loaded Steel Coils Train Passes BIG CSX Train With DPU! Train Knocks Down The Signal On The Bridge. Historic Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Signals Still In Use! Check Out The Drive To Get To The Top Of The Ridge At Canal Ridge, Cincinnati, Ohio. You Finally get to see what the road looks like and why I like to use my 4 wheel truck to get up there. Huge pot holes full of water and plenty of mud. These are some giant trains so if you like counting cars you better grab a coffee or Red Bull and get ready for some Live Action.
I was up there by myself but I recommend that you go there with other people. A couple of days after I filmed this some railfans went up there. A homeless man put barricades over the lane after the railfans went up. He put shopping carts, bicycles, big rocks and other debris across the road. My friend Scott, 1960gambit tried to remove the debris and the man ran at him with a giant candy cane. Norfolk Southern needed to transport a crew to there and started to remove the junk. The homeless man was yelling and getting weird so the railroad police and Cincinnati police were called. The railroad police was familiar with the man. That is one day that I am glad I wasn't there. I have been up there two other times when that homeless man has walked by. You can actually see him in one of my videos walk right in front of me when I was filming.
Filmed Friday, February 2, 2024 in 1080p with 60fps. Thanks for watching!

Best view of the old B&O lights yet.
Thanks 😊
Keep it up with this videos! 🎉
Thank you! Will do! I’m In Florida this week
Awesome video with a dpu working hard but wait there’s more 👍😎🇺🇸🚂👍
@Patric5590 that is his main catchphrase.
Thanks 👍
Loooong trains today! Great video JT!
🚂🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃💯👍🇺🇸
Glad you enjoyed
Boy they earned their money at the freight yard that day. All of those trains were long. Thanks and be safe...
Thanks 😊Will do 🎉
When I worked as an ICG Agent in E. St. Louis, there was a street called Falling Springs right next to C yard. It was one giant pothole, LOL! They provided us with olive drab 4 door Chevrolet sedans!
Interesting 😊be careful
Looks like a great spot to catch them . Get all the video and photos of all those old B&O signals while you can . I'm sure they will replace them sooner or later. They did out here on the Philly Sub . Take care JT
For sure! Most of the ones that I used to see are gone 😢
The DPU was sounding good as hard as it was working JT! Cool catch. 😊😊😊❤❤❤
Yes! Thank you!
I love the coil steel train JT! 😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤
Me too!
Let's just say, those placards mean Very Bad Stuff....JP 😅😂
Yup😅
I miss seeing old sp cars and Santa Fe cars and southern cars too
I miss seeing the old Southern tobacco boxcars. Do you remember them?
@@JawTooth yes I remember those cars old Santa Fe cars and sp cars
I love ur vids ❤❤
Thanks 😊
Like your videos jt glad your alot better how'd your family
All good, it has been rough I think I’m getting better
@@JawTooth I'm glad your feeling better wooooo
Wow, that was a monster of a train. Seemed to go on forever, but still cool. You should have taken those pallets if you can use them. Just be careful out there. Great video. Have a nice day 😊🌈
Next time! I can use them
That was a great Saturday morning video JT. Glad you feel much better from surgery. They're never fun.
Nice. Lots of trains today..thanks JT
Thank you too
The CSX was pretty long for a grain train if it was loaded. And nearly all of them were really weathered. Great train JT! 😊😊😊❤❤❤
Thank you very much!
Good stuff, JT! Those blue Chet pallets are worth some money if you turn them in! My Kroger store was paying $30 each for them when i worked there in the 2000s. They send them back to the warehouse for any rebuilding needed then put them back into circulation.
Great Film 🎥
Thanks 😊
Mr JT I would not put my truck through all that mud on that dirt road. But you got a great view.❤ Wow you caught two trains. ❤
Thanks 👍 I need to get a new truck this year. Mine is getting beat up lol
Wow, some big trains there son !!! Nice one JT 👍👍👍👍
Thanks 👍
Some of those tank cars, are literally "bombs on wheels"!
I really enjoy your videos JT, always interesting and great entertainment.
I appreciate that!
Brilliant JT best wishes from Scotland 😊
Many thanks!
@@JawTooth 😊👍
Good morning Brian. Have a great weekend & be careful out there..
Will do
1830 is sulphuric acid with more than 15% pure acid
Thanks for the info 😊
1093 Acrylonitrile, stabilized
Whatever that is! 😂I will look it up....
You look and sound like your feeling much better.
I’m starting to 😊
That CSX train was probably told to wait by dispatch until he saw the head end of the Norfolk Southern. That way he had fully cleared the switch at the other end where the CSX train is probably going to move over to the track that the Norfolk Southern is on at the other end.
D-P-U-I-C-U. good trains, moving slow enough to get a good look at the cars, plus bonus of DPU's. Shoestring will get jealous of you using his chair!
Man that "IM" train was really long.
I was just talking to him today 😊
I grew up alongside the Southern Railway mainline in Charlotte, NC and I learned how to read by reading road names on freight cars, “Southern gives a green light to innovation” was one of the first sentences I asked my mom to clarify for me as a small child. I didn’t know what innovation meant. lol
"Southern Serves The South"
Do you remember the Southern tobacco boxcars with the ventilation holes in the top?
@JawTooth Yes I do! I grew up in eastern Kentucky. 😆
I do remember and they have some of those cars on display at the NC Transportation Museum in Spencer, NC.
Great Saturday video. All I need now is a bowl of Quisp cereal and some vintage Jonny Quest episodes!
Awesome! I forgot about them 😮
Skids are worth 5 to 10 dollars each in good shape..😮 thanks for sharing..😊
Brandi sure wasn't going to give Loki that stick! 😂 Your pets are just adorable! 😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤
😊 thank you
I personally like the blue and grey paint scheme better than the new CSX locomotives. Just my opinion. 😊😊
I agree with you
Keep filming 🎉🎉 and stay safe.
Thanks will do 😊
Amazing! Beatiuful video 🚂🚗👍🚂👍
Thanks 😊
Wow! Excellent catching all the trains, I like them all, @JawTooth, Brian, thank you very much.
While you're Dodge-ing the holes, be careful you don't Ram a tree! 😅
Lol😊
rofl
You're right about that train being long JT. I counted 201 cars plus or minus. It was incredibly long! I'm really surprised there wasn't a DPU on the rear! Fabulous catch. 😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks for the info!
Another very long CSX intermodal. I like the BNSF power in the helper position. Really nice variety of containers also. Excellent catch JT! Thank you. 😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤
Thank you very much!
Bouncy ride up there. Enjoyed the trains passing. Loved the high railer flying by backwatds!
Thanks 👍
What a long train 🚆 in this video from Brian. Thanks for sharing this video with us. Please have a great weekend.😊
Thanks, you too!
Spectacular video today JT!! I can see why you like that parking place. It gives you an excellent viewpoint. You caught many wonder trains today. Interesting and long! I sure appreciate what you do bringing them to us! Have a great week. 😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks 👍 I hope you have a great week also
@@JawTooth Thanks JT!
that was cool to see the truck driving on the track and I enjoyed the spot great train view !
Thanks 👍
Hey JT, greeting from Sheffield, Yorkshire. Thanks for highlighting the hazard identification placards, I have always been interested in those and I appreciate you filming them. I could get all the UN serial numbers on that long train because you were zoomed out too far for part of the train to read them, but in order of appearance for those interested;
1993 - Flammable liquid not listed specifically in the list
1830 - Sulphuric acid solution (sulfuric acid solution in USA)
1093 - Acrylonitrile
1075 - LPG
1114 - Benzene
1077 - Propylene (aka propene)
1005 - Ammonia, anhydrous
1203 - Gasoline
3082 - Environmentally hazardous liquid not listed specifically in the list.
Thanks again for you films and keep watching for those placards!

Thanks for the info 😊
Great video JT. Love that "Live action" going in and out of Queens Gate.
Nice to have all those steel coil cars, so we could see a lot of the train behind at the meet.
Yes indeed!
Another awesome video, JT and man in 2001 Pentex did a DVD video right there where you at and they rented a manlift and the cameraman and the narrator got up in that manlift and was up higher than the trains and the narrator told everybody how those signals worked And what each one meant it was pretty awesome but anyway try to stay warm out there and I hope you’re feeling better and we’ll see you on your next one brother oh and watch the old crazy man under the bridge
Hi JT: awesome video! One of the best! Really enjoyed it! Thank you for sharing your efforts! Have a nice weekend. Sincerely, David.
Thank you! You too!
Love this one. Really really long trains. Great spot for filming. Take care. ❤
Thanks for watching

Thanks Randy! I like visiting different places
You had a very productive time railfanning at Winston Place in Cincinnati, Ohio on 2 February 2024, Jaw Tooth! You caught several long trains coming and going to CSX's Queensgate Yard and Norfolk Southern's Jest Street Yard. It was fun watching the variety of freight cars on these trains.
I like that parking spot, too bad nowhere is safe anymore. I really have been enjoying your videos✌🏼
Glad you like them! Most railroad areas are dangerous though
Whew! Some real yard clearing trains today! I counted 198 on the first one, 92 on the empty grain train and 162 on the IM. Thank you for standing in the wind for us.
Those coil trains are cool👍👍
I think so too!
Didn't get notified on this one either but found it anyway. Had surgery this morning to take care of a 4 mo. problem and it went well. Hope your recovery is going well. Cool action on this one, liked it much. Thanks JT!
Yeah some of these areas near the tracks are dangerous to be at but
the scenery is very nice though. especially there at the Mill Creek Bridge
going over the bridge also your awesome pets having fun in the yard and the train slide show Thanks Jaw Tooth.🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃🇺🇲💨
Good video Brian. I like how you filmed the road up to the top too
Dam that csx train was long, awesome video.
Those new tank cars that say PROCOR on the side. Are built at the Procor plant about 5 minutes from my home in Oakville, Ontario. Canada.
Awesome 😊
Cool video. Long slow trains
Thanks for watching
Amazing videos Jaw Tooth keep up the good work
Morning JT, that road looked a bit sketchy! 😮 is that the spot where you said you may do a live stream from? Like the slow train can see it in more detail JT. ❤😊👍
Yes it is. I want to do that this year
One possible reason for the lights going off could be that some hot shot in a corner office somewhere decided the bulbs cost too much to be energized when a train is occupying a block and the engine is past the signal. Probably had $1,200 worth of electronics installed to turn off the lights that cost them $12.00 to have energized for the entire day. You know how upper, upper management does things. (We all know they don't have logic or common sense)
Love the long freight trains - great video!
May God continue to bless you, keep you safe, and provide joy for you.
My back got sore just from watching you drive down that gravel road.
My truck got sore also 😅
DOT placards: 1791 is hypochlorite solutions, 1203 is gasoline, 1093 is Acrylonitrile, stabilized, 1075 is Butane
Thanks for that!
Thanks for the info 😊
Man, that train is going to get in the next yard before freddie leaves Queensgate!
Thanks for watching 😊
Very cool!!!
Thanks 😊
Wow, great trains that day. Thanks, Jaw Tooth.
JT, I like it when you read the placard numbers. You mentioned that train 375 is going to Indiana. Does it also go south into Kentucky? You've filmed it at Crescent Hill I think.
Crescent Hill in Louisville? JT does show up in LaGrange occasionally.
Plenty of huge trains and awesome action JT , great job.👍🏼
My fav spot you film at. Alot is flam liquid, benzene, and vinal. 2 sided.
Thanks for watching 😊
Southern Serves The South and also Southern Gives The Green Light To Innovations were seen in the '60's; Burlington Everywhere West, Burlington Route Of The Zephyrs, Milwaukee Road, Northern Pacific, and many more
Wow that was a good video, especially the monster train with only 2 engines, strong power almost pull 200 cars, Thanks Jaw Tooth.
Cool, both NS and CSX going on solo. 3:46
Thanks for watching!
@jawtooth +2 skids. 😂 Love that old B&O signal... Also.. What's up with that final container car? Looked like it may have housed that Argus thing from Super 8😂
Great video and very long hi norfie, chessie, brandy and loki❤❤❤❤
I enjoyed that video👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Wow! Really nice freight trains!
That dpu didn't really surprised me. I think you're right they emptied the yard for that train that's actually two trains hooked together
Thanks for watching 😊
Made it to another awesome and exciting video of live action lol.
Hope you enjoyed it!
@@JawTooth I certainly did my friend.
Man that was a monster train! That dpu sounded real good ! Thanks for the video Brian. Stay well roll on
Thanks, you too!
Great catches and awesome video jaw tooth

Wow long trains!!!
but I just only count the ns/bnsf intermodal train that carries international containers(45",40" and the 20") I count it manually and all in all it carries 246 international containers😊❤
Thanks for watching 😊
Merci beaucoup pour cette très belle vidéo et très bon week-end ! 🖐🖐
Thanks for watching 😊
@@JawTooth Très bon dimanche ! 🖐🖐🙏
Sweet catches you got Jaw Tooth!
probably bringing my new Ford LTD from Wixom Michigan... I use to live near their plant... passed it hundreds of times.
Awesome 😊
Plenty of trains to go around here today. The NS coil train while up near the old car counts had CSX cars with covers something I don't recall seeing. Then the outbound Mega train had lots of good cars and you honed in on a CAGY Columbus & Greenville covered Hopper which is rare. You then had one of the biggest contrasts between the old SCL Seaboard Coast Line gondola and the new tank cars some of which are getting ready for the spring planting with anhydrous ammonia plus very odd PROX tankers is that their name is not spelled out on the car. You also had the bad air hose connection making those air compressors work harder. A unit grain train plus an intermodal made for balanced viewing. Brandy said enough is enough that stick is mine
1830 Corrosive Placard. Thanks for that # callout.
Thanks for watching!
I think there is an empty yard somewhere for every train today!
Yup😊
