This is great! I had this scenario happen to me in Kansas. The airlines lost my luggage for the 6 days I was there for a class. I hit the local small town pharmacy and got the cheapest shave items I could find. They worked pretty good. By the time they found my bag it was time to go home. I wore crappy undies and the worst pair of pants and shirt for a week Hahahaha Fantastic!!!!
I’ve used a plastic safety razor from China and I love it. It is not aggressive at all, so you can pair it with an aggressive blade such as a Feather and get a nice close shave without being overly cautious about cutting yourself.
They do sell safety razors at some dollar trees. It’s by the brand Assured and it comes with 5 DE blades. You can find them on eBay too if you want to do a future video.
Haha! You beat me, lol! I picked up 2 or 3 of those TTO's for travel purposes. If I lose it or break it hey it only cost a buck. The blades that came with them do suck :)
A Dollar tree safety razor was the first non electric razor I ever used. Picked one up last year and LOVED it, only recently did I upgrade to a Merkur 34C and I picked up a Gillette Adjustable slim at an antique shop but I can’t say anything bad about the dollar tree razor I well got my use out of it and it changed my shaving life!
This brought up fond memories of when I was 17 years old and living in Denmark. My roommate dragged me into a 10 kroner store (the equivalent in Denmark) and I, the country bumpkin, was amazed by that bright-colored stuff on the shelves. Candles with St. Sebastian on the plastic casing, Immaculate Heart and Our Lady of Guadeloupe ballpoint pens, "one size fits all" pantyhose, weight loss tea...I don't remember any shaving supplies, though. I think these stores sold whatever they could get their hands on, whether it's a Jesus lamp with a switch-on Sacred Heart or a box with 10 green lipsticks.
Hello, I’ve just shaved for the first time about 4 days ago I had to order a $20 safety razor off of amazon, because I don’t live with my dad and don’t feel comfortable talking about ‘me’ to my mom so I got some barbasol and shaved at 1:55 am and only got a little nick and a somewhat bigger one. Both around my lips. I got a safety razor because I don’t have a job so I had to save a little bit of money just for the razor and barbasol. Therefore I don’t have the money for cartridge razors. I felt like telling you this because I think your tutorials helped me and I felt more confident. Hope you see this and Have a good evening.
That’s very cool. I’m glad that I could help in some small way with my videos. Keep using that razor and you’ll get better and better. Let me know how your progress goes!
I've used this shave gel 3 times now, and each shave has been surprisingly good! I think this will appeal to fellas who prefer slickness and glide over thick protecting lathers. It won't replace my favorite shaving soaps, but it works a treat.
Funny, that shave gel and pack of assured disposable razors was part of a “care package” I received at my overseas location last Christmas season. Helped me get many clean shaves before my duty day and kept me looking inspection ready.
Love all of your content just to let you know. Keep it going. So, I just saw this video and actually at the Dollar Tree here in El Paso I actually did see Safety Razors. I bought one to try out. Not bad, but will never use it. Just wanted to see how it was.
I’m about 2 years late but my dollar store, (dollar tree) sells 3 piece razors and they also sell pucks of shaving soap, the razor has a long black handle and the head is pretty thin but it’s all metal. I find it shaves about the same as my 1918. I’ve seen on videos that they also sell a butterfly wishi style razor but I don’t have it in my local store. You should try the 3 piece if you can find it locally!
About that Dollar Tree Shave Gel: It's the Arte Johnson Soap because it's: 'Verrry Interesting'. Put a quarter sized puddle into your BOWL and whip up with a damp brush. It makes a thin but slick lather & provides an acceptable shave. ALSO interesting is that it doesn't leave any soap scum int the sink, but a light oil slick that appears to remove existing soap scum in the sink. Tomorrow I'll mix some up with an equal part of Cremo to stiffen up the lather.
Great video don't worry your are fine no need to be so serious all the time the razor are fine also no need too expensive aslong it give you a nice shaving is enough.
The dollar tree where I live has safety razors and shave brushes. I’ve got their brush jus because lol it’s not bad jus small knot. Apparently they also sell shave soap pucks but my store in town doesn’t have them.
