Was nervous that the film would not live up to the viewing ecstasy of the musical but this trailer gives me such high hopes I teared up a bit watching it.
THIS is how you do a screen adaptation of a musical. It feels faithful to the source (let’s just say I’ve watched the staged version....a lot. enough times to recognize that there were so many direct quotes!!! I love it!!! So many of my favorite things about this show!!! They kept them!!!) But yet it still feels... well, new! In my opinion the biggest mistake films like this make is trying to just plop a live production onto a movie set. These guys have built a world for these characters, and it looks INCREDIBLE. I mean you can just tell the visuals are gonna be amazing. And from what I can tell the songs sound great!!! Sorry for the huge comment, but this is one of my favorite musicals ever and I was skeptical of the film at first. Here’s to hoping I don’t have to edit this comment once it comes out!

I dont quite get the idea of "coming out", feels like this term is just another mark toward seperating the world into many colors that each itself stand alone, while in fact, the world is a synphony of colors that blended in together. I know till this day, this term has its first stoned mission of making human recognizes the existence of different colors inside the symphony, but imagine a time where people no longer needs to come out, and that term disappeared completely, remained nothing more than just a tiny mark in history. I guess when that day come, we will no longer want to ask "its a boy or girl?" to a person whos about to become parent.

West Side Story also representing Latinos & immigrants & now Everybody’s Talking About Jamie representing the LGTBQ community as well as Drag Queens. I’m so excited to see these so diverse powerful musicals with a great purpose!

Honestly, life is just too short to be opined upon or judged for the way you spend it. If you've genuinely figured out what gives you happiness, go and pursue it! Not a lot of good people get that chance under the veils of restrictions through maybe political turmoil and/or other restrictions which bind the human tendency to explore and help people figure their true selves out. Yes, it does matter to every child deep inside what their parents think. If you don't want to support your child because of what you think about some particular things, then it's fine. But at least don't discourage them! Not supporting and discouraging are two very different things. If you don't support them for their career choices, but your kids know you're there whenever they need you, then it's fine. They can move on. But if you discourage them by saying things like what just happened in that trailer, you might not know what an amazing opportunity your child must've missed upon to find their true self if they were discouraged badly.
Dude! I legit teared up at the part where Jamie asks his mom if she ever wished he was normal and she says no. It was similar to when I was having a mental crisis and I asked my mom if she would have rather had a normal, popular daughter and she said she just wants me to be happy in life.

I lovED playing with makeup and doing drag, and that scene reminds me of all the disappointment I saw in my dad's face. I just gave up. Now I really hope that with this film coming up, more of us can have the courage to hold on to that passion while others can be understanding, accepting, and supportive. I first heard about a 2020 musical in South Korea called Jamie and now seeing this trailer I realized this is a film adaptation of a 2017 musical, which is inspired by a 2011 documentary. All these connections! This looks amazing and I'm so going to watching this.
Just came on Prime and it was so good! So uplifting and inspiring! The song where they sing a bit about Freddie Mercury and the AIDS epidemic had me in tears. The part w/the dad is devastating. But it this is done so well! 💕
First of all whoever decided to drop the trailer on coming out day I LOVE YOU... - - I came across this musical back in june (both the soundtrack and the show itself) the same day I came out to my mom as genderfluid (that didnt go well) seeing this show made me so happy and feel so valid at the same time.... Did anyone else watch this at their Secondary school because their teacher didn't know what to do for the last day or was that just my school? Either way this is one of the very few movies I've seen at school that I'd definitely watch in my free time, was really good!
I'm nervous because part of the reason I love the stage musical so much is because of its original cast (John McCrea, Josie Walker, Lucie Shorthouse, Shobna Gulati, and Phil Nichol). Not seeing any of them here makes me kind of sad, but this new cast for the movie seems very talented too, and I'm excited to see how they bring the roles to life in their own way. 💙 EDIT: I was made aware that Shobna IS playing Ray in this movie...yay! 😁 And that John is in the movie as well, but as young Loco Chanelle.
I don’t know about this, he’s such an angel in this trailer... What I loved about the show was how, on the road to acceptance, Jamie learned to be less narcissistic and self-centred.
These people can afford all this because they have others growing their food, financially supporting them, building and maintaining their infrastructure, and defending their rights. They're so affluent that they don't have a clue....and they don't seem to need one.

Was on mainstream TV last night. First time I believe. Only caught the last 30 minutes at a guess as forgotten when it was on. Loved it.
I lovED playing with makeup and doing drag, and that scene reminds me of all the disappointment I saw in my dad's face. I just gave up. Now I really hope that with this film coming up, more of us can have the courage to hold on to that passion while others can be understanding, accepting, and supportive.
I first heard about a 2020 musical in South Korea called Jamie and now seeing this trailer I realized this is a film adaptation of a 2017 musical, which is inspired by a 2011 documentary. All these connections! This looks amazing and I'm so going to watching this.
I saw this show in London...Twice..It is brilliant, inspiring and the music is in it is FABULOUS!

Just came on Prime and it was so good! So uplifting and inspiring! The song where they sing a bit about Freddie Mercury and the AIDS epidemic had me in tears. The part w/the dad is devastating. But it this is done so well! 💕

I came across this musical back in june (both the soundtrack and the show itself) the same day I came out to my mom as genderfluid (that didnt go well) seeing this show made me so happy and feel so valid at the same time....
I love how faithful this looks it makes my heart and soul so happy

I'm nervous because part of the reason I love the stage musical so much is because of its original cast (John McCrea, Josie Walker, Lucie Shorthouse, Shobna Gulati, and Phil Nichol). Not seeing any of them here makes me kind of sad, but this new cast for the movie seems very talented too, and I'm excited to see how they bring the roles to life in their own way. 💙
EDIT: I was made aware that Shobna IS playing Ray in this movie...yay! 😁 And that John is in the movie as well, but as young Loco Chanelle.

I don’t know about this, he’s such an angel in this trailer... What I loved about the show was how, on the road to acceptance, Jamie learned to be less narcissistic and self-centred.

I saw this show in London and I loved it. The movie looks amazing and faithful to the musical and I'm so excited to see it.
These people can afford all this because they have others growing their food, financially supporting them, building and maintaining their infrastructure, and defending their rights. They're so affluent that they don't have a clue....and they don't seem to need one.
