Does anyone of you know if there is some kind of mechanic in place for AI to wait and one turn the player? From my experience it happens suspiciously often, but as far as I know there is no way to really prove this theory. (Despite having enough diplomatic visibility to see what the cities are currently focusing on. The problem with this plan is, that by the point visibilty is high enough, my production and science are usally so high that it becomes impossible for the AI to steal the wonder...). So I am curious if anyone knows more about this phenomenon.

It's worse. The transfer of the marsh tile from the Capital to Coba at 22:00 changed the production time of coliseum from 1 turn to 2 turns. Potato would have gotten the wonder if hadn't shifted the tile.
Still upset you moved Copan one tile to the West. You trade tons of desert tiles for useless coastal tiles, for a very short term benefit as the city would have grown to that plantation eventually anyway. Imagine if Copan had had that iron mine, those extra desert hills, and the wheat tile. Plus, much less money spent on reaching a good building spot for the Petra. Played it too safe, like you didn't want the city to suffer if you missed the Petra. But Petra is all or nothing, the brave and the bold, go big or go home. Nobody likes to see a Petra that is okay, when a truly mighty Petra was right there for the taking.
Aqueducts give the full housing benefit to all Mayan cities, which is why the AI Maya has massive cities every time. They get full housing from aqueducts AND all the bonus housing from the farms they spam out.

Won my first game at Diety level that wasn't a 1:1 duel. Six player game, nobody got destroyed, I won a Diplomatic victory. I was pretty damn happy. Playing Qin, he did help early in the game by converting barbarians into my own troops. I was behind in every other way. 😁
The hubris of thinking he could get Colosseum and Jebel with no chops and intentionally not using the ample chops he had. This video is a show of decline. It started with all the ambition and hope one could have, and ends with the crushing realization that it has taken everything and gained nothing. 10/10 video, hope you rollback to get your Colosseum King
If you put Jebel on the other desert hill in the capital then you should be able to get +5 theater square on the flat desert and still have the aqueduct where you pinned Jebel and IZ where you pinned the theater square.
you have the wrong idea for johannesburghs bonus, it gives +1 production for every different type of resource, it's not bonus/luxury/strategic it's wheat/rice/cattle/sugar/salt/cotton/horses/iron/nitre etc. etc., it can easily give cities major production boosts, Copan could get +6 if you improved the wheat and fish it can reach, your capital would get 3 if you improved it's crabs, Coba could get 4 if you transfer a rice to it from the capital, Palenque would get 3 as well, and all those would get doubled later on down the line
woods provide +1 production per turn. in many cases you would get a better return by chopping the woods and getting production that turn so that you can finish building stuff faster.
Btw, Johannesburg gives production per unique resource, not just per type. Like if you have both sheep and deer (both bonus resources), they both get +1 production. It's absurd.
What does it mean when a tile has 1 large production/food/culture/science shown versus the smaller one? Is that a x5 for the resource? Because I’ve seen the large emblems but didn’t know if that’s optimized to full potential or the opposite.

You can build two industrial districts adjacent to your goverment plaza and have one aqueduct next to each one.. just saying!
