Maybe if you let the water ones dry out well before cutting them open. Try that .dry out a day in the sun see if that affects the cellular structure with holding the water content.

Hey, Josiah from Middle Georgia! I love to watch your Auntie and Family too! My husband and his family call their sister, (other than Moma and Mimi) Sissy too. The funny thing is I thought that was her name up until we were introduced!
I have a hard time finding firm avocados at the grocery stores here. They are always so bruised and lots of black spots. By the time I cut away the bad spots, I would maybe only get on a good day, a tablespoon from a whole avocado. So I stopped buying them lately. Wasting the avocado and much-needed money! It's just crazy, like everything else in this world! Loved today's vlog and need to catch up on several ones I've missed lately! Have a Blessed week!

Tip: Place your avocado seed with your leftover cut avocado or guacamole… it will stop it from browning.

We love avocados! We've found that refrigerating them once they reach a certain level of softness does significantly slows down the ripening process. However I'm pretty sure they wouldn't last nearly a month without citric acid. I may try this experiment. Thanks for sharing! 😁

I grew up in southern California. and we had avocado trees I miss them fresh. I now live in Wash. State and the only way I have preserved avocado was to cut in 1/4 peeled and vac, sealed and put in the freezer they were great! Thank you for doing this I'm always looking for better ways..

Loved this experiment. Its just the two of us now and I'm the avocado eater. So I think I'll try the wrapped method because if I forget and not get to my fresh avocados I'll end up throwing one away, I only buy 2 at a time because they spoil so quickly and they're not exactly cheap.

Hi Josiah! Happy Birthday, Sissy! 🌹🎉🎂🎉🌹
Interesting experiment. Thanks. I’m trying to solve my avocado problem/availability - planted two trees two years ago: Reed and GEM. Theoretically we should have fruit year round beginning next year. Severe heat last spring caused the Reed to drop all its blossoms. Sad 😢. We’re in north San Diego coastal area.

You can buy them green and leave them in the refrigerator. I put one or two on the counter top when I want some. Otherwise they don't usually over-ripen when left in the refrigerator.

You give me hope. One thing i miss about growing up in California is going to the avocado farm. I haven't bought one in a few years here in East Tennessee because they are either rocks or mush. Frozen avocado tastes like it is slathered in something very acidic also.
I am craving avocado with garlic salt sprinkled on top with saltines now.

Next time you use the plastic wrap, pull it out a little long and twirl each end as you did and then bring the end together and tie it nice and tight.

Reverse osmosis is water is the perfect solvent and needs to have minerals added back to it. It could potentially cause you to lose calcium from your bones. When I looked at it, special faucets were suggested to prevent lead from leaching into the water. We have used the ZeroWater counter filter for years. Bought them for our parents and sent one to college with my daughter. I buy the filters in bulk when they go on sale. The company has been great, replacing the counter when the tap or any other part broke.

I was wondering that, too. If citric acid is concentrated lemon juice, that is in dry form. When you hydrate it in the water, it becomes sugarless lemonade. After many days, that alone would be off-putting. This is a new method of preserving avacado that I'm interested in trying out myself.
