Heaton Park was bombed it was used as a transit camp for the RAF and not 100% sure but there is a social security place further up from Bowlee it looks it might have been a ex RAF HQ . On Manchester Libarys archive web sight it show a police officer standing next to a bomb crater in Heaton Park.
