    amazing footage from the war years plus Bowlee area and Birch, are there more films from Middleton to be shown? I read somewhere that RAF Bowlee was bombed in March 1941 by a sole German aeroplane

      Heaton Park was bombed it was used as a transit camp for the RAF and not 100% sure but there is a social security place further up from Bowlee it looks it might have been a ex RAF HQ .
      On Manchester Libarys archive web sight it show a police officer standing next to a bomb crater in Heaton Park.

    It makes you wonder who was fighting the war at the time, with what looks like the whole of the English army marching through Miggleton!
