I don’t understand why so many bikers want to flip off other drivers. Don’t they realize we know they don’t have any respect for us? Why do they think most drivers don’t have any respect for them or concerns for their safety. When you flip people off, it just makes people disrespect you even more, which infringes on all bikers safety even more in the future.

It's not only a bikers thing, so many drivers are beyond oblivious. I try not to flip off drivers when I'm walking but it gets hard when they blatantly ignore crosswalks to peek into the road so they can turn, or even worse ignore ones with cross signals to make that right on red. I've had drivers literally roll up right in front of me as I was crossing with a cross signal then look at me like I was the ass for being there. I've had drivers make a sudden turn with no signal right in front of me, or a stupid cutoff of 1-2 lanes of traffic to squeeze in a left turn just as I start crossing a side street. Not every driver deserves it, and not every biker should do it, but frustration builds, and it can get to the best of us. If you let the bikers that flip drivers off build a bad rap for bikers in general and make you lose respect for all of them, you're no better than the people who deserve to get flipped off.
