    The sign is a subtle joke. The shop is called "Sneed's Feed & Seed", where feed and seed both end in the sound "-eed", thus rhyming with the name of the owner, Sneed. The sign says that the shop was "Formerly Chuck's", implying that the two words beginning with "F" and "S" would have ended with "-uck", rhyming with "Chuck". So, when Chuck owned the shop, it would have been called "Chuck's Feeduck and Seeduck".

History that's been suppressed so yes its great and interesting for everyone to know, all around the world, not just for black people or other races in america . kind of like the holocaust and other severe enslavement periods or throughout history, at some point in time it is always exposed and brought to the light. The etymology of the phrase: "Being sold down the river" meant a slave that tried to escape would be sold to a slave State further South. The river was the Mississippi River, and slaves who tried to escape numerous times would be sent to Louisiana. This made it even more difficult to escape.

      I am also a historian with ancestral connections to Southern plantations. My ancestors have a long history in buck breaking, from bout 1795 to just after the civil war. Lemme tell you something, my one great great great great uncle Charlie O’Handsly, worked at the Washington plantation for a few summers. He told tales of one… peculiar buck. See with most bucks the breakin sticks, the buck don’t give ya any kinda problems, but this’un was different. He’d act up but wouldn’t hide it. Seemed every day he was pretendin to nap on picken duty, but with one eye open all coy like, or he’d take extra watermelon and molasses pie. Why sometimes he would sit his field ass on the front porch IN PLAIN DAMN SIGHT o’the ovahseeah. Ovaseeah would call out to the buck to git to the breakin barn, and before ya could whistle Dixie he’d be in that there barn. He’d run to it like it was a cold stream on a hot August day in Georgia I’d tell you hwhat. Hell sometimes this buck would TELL YOU what kin’a mischief he was gonna git his night night black ass up to when he didn’t even do nothin yet. He’d run to that barn yellin, “Come on massah, this buck ain’t gonna break hisself!” Just downright peculiar.
      To honor my ancestor’s legacy I continue to carry on my family’s tradition of breaking bucks to this very day. I hope to find the descendent of that peculiar buck and attempt to break him myself. Legends say the buck changed his name to Nasheed after the Emancipation.

Being lied to for centuries has caused false realities that some will allow to continue because of their own fear of the truth, but without knowing what’s real robs you of the happiness and joy we all deserve. Listen every human being deserves the truth but we all have been deprived of it, it’s up to you and me to seriously seek it search the hidden history. Love 💕 makes it so much easier hate gives you wrinkles, separates you from people you really should know scientists have discovered that negative 👎 feelings over long periods of time can and will cause major health issues, reason we should be more positive? Because none of us were created to contain negative thoughts . Do us and yourself a favor Black, White, Brown, Yellow people always search for truth!!!! The more I learn about slavery, the more nauseated it makes me. The proliferation and depth of the cruelty destroys my hope for humanity. Abolition wasn't the matter of conscientious enlightenment that we would like to think it was. It was first, an act of war, to hurt the south, and later made permanent only so it wouldn't rip the country apart again. I'm not so sure it's gone forever.

      No you have been told a twisted story by stubborn southerners.
      Abolition was not to hurt the South, it is the other way around.
      They were abolishing slavery all over the USA because it was not fair economics. It drove down wages and it was against the guiding principals of the country.
      Slavery is why the south seceded.
      They weren't 'releasing all the slaves' as revenge on the South. It was always centre of discussion.

    Of interest is that this type of information has been common knowledge for a century of so; one could be skeptical of its resurrections and emphasis at this time of media-generated turmoil. That aside, certainly Davy's story is interesting but similar to the convicts that were transported to Australia per Robert Hughes' "Fatal Shore", except in Australia, there's no place to run and you don't want to be caught by the Aborigines. On another note, the stories of the starving Irish farmers during the famine and the life of the land-slave serfs than made up the majority of Europe's populations prior to 1900 are nonexistent and most of them had no place to run either.

    Slave owners did not do their own flogging. They always had another slave do it. Stories like this are only on TH-cam to inflame old wounds by someone with a malignant agenda. $925 IN 1855 was a hug sum only a very rich person could afford. Owning slaves is not exclusive to America but many Americans think that what happens in America applies to the whole world.

    • @13579hee
      @13579hee 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Ummmmm no. He was owned as a slave thus he couldn't be the first to own a Black person as a slave. And yes.........he definitely owned Enslaved people because he lived in a colony designed by Europeans where the way to gain wealth was to become one of the land owned people and make enslaved people do the work for you. He was doing what he saw around him.
      Idk why you White people think this is sure a REVEALING THING. Somehow you think this should stop people from holding Whites accountable for racism.... like did you miss the point in how he, a BLACK MAN, got to North America in the first place 😂😂😂!?! Mentioning this is such a divisive tactic. It adds NOTHING to the conversations of how America needs to make amends for ehat it's done

    • @garyloger9416
      @garyloger9416 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @@13579hee Ummmmm yes. Do your research. Anthony Johnson was never a slave. And no, I don't believe you'll ever stop holding whites accountable for things they've never done. But that's besides the point. Go educate yourself on who Anthony Johnson was. Another black slave owner to research is William (April) Ellison. It's said that he was a slave breeder. Paying someone to get his female slaves pregnant and than selling the babies. Even the whites looked down him for that.
      Anyway, have fun learning and BTW I'm not white. Just saying...
