  • January 1967, I'm standing on the "Iron Bridge" as it was known by the Railbuff's at the west end of the Pennsylvania Railroad Enola yard making movies of trains arriving, and departing. This was the end of the Pennsylvania Railroad as it was merged with the New York Central System to form the Penn -- Central.

Wow... so that's what the view looked like without the Rte 81 bridge there. Great vintage stuff Ed!

When a home movie from the 60's has better audio and video than one from 2010...

My dad worked out of the Enola Yard, back when they still used a caboose. So sad how it has deteriorated. But it was great to see this video.

Home movies with sound didn't exist until the 1970s.

The caboose rolling down the hill saves a back up move to pick it up.

Great stuff Ed thanks! Dont ya wish we'd had the great camcorders we have today back in those days? Yards all over the place. Towers still plentiful, opn 24/7. Still quite abit of diesel variety. Pre-Amtrak passenger trains...Glad you got the footage you did. Sure brings back alot of great memories!
