How hard? Really I drive semis.
I've driven both and both are equally hard and stressful. Backing a bus if you're coming from a semi will be equally as challenging as you have to get use to reversing normal again. In a semi you have to turn the wheel in the opposite direction. You can make a u-turn in a semi a lot easier than a bus, try it and you'll be blocking traffic and backing up into cars that won't slow down or care. I've driven semi, motorcoaches, school buses, 60ft articulated buses, box trucks, and the hardest thing is dealing with rude and obnoxious passengers while trying to keep your eyes on both the passengers and the road. Even if you have a class A, you will need to take a passenger endorsement training course and do the whole pre-trip exam, skills exam, and road test to be able to drive a bus. Many semi drivers get behind the wheel of a bus and try to take turns in a bus like a semi truck and you have to keep the rear wheel close to the curb or you'll end up smashing an F150 because he is impatient and hates being behind a bus. Either way both are hard to drive as I drive both and I can tell you this from experience.
It's not the size of the vehicle, its the cargo you haul.....Does your lettuce or potato chips jump around and start a fight on your semi? Does it vomit while your driving 60 mph with 60 other kids in the vehicle? Guess what happens when a wasp flies in the window while driving down the road with 70 elementary kids on it? Hehe....Truckers crack me up. I was in the military for 10 years and drove tons of heavy equipment, Driving a school bus is way more challenging and rewarding.
