I was in high school and my Band teacher was Mr. Rickey Malone. He introduced me to this thing called sticking. Its like magic with sounds. Outstanding Band Director. Great Work ASU

New school sound so precise and CLEAN with it 💨 but old school ordered the EXTRA Sauce! Their visuals demand your attention and their swag makes you stare. If you haven’t heard MMH (and their drum-line) in person, then you’re doing yourself a DISSERVICE.

What’s been up with the tuning of the snares and basses🙄
I heard that, those new snares are horrible. I laugh at lines who marched those because no matter how many you got you can only hear a flam. Those snares should come with the harness😂
14:37 too lol that’s why I love watching bama state cause we got majority of out cadences from them. Til we got a morris brown drum coordinator and their cadences are fye too

New school snares sound like a empty metal trash can, I thought this was asu. It sound like bucket beaters in the NY subway
The new school playing on System Blue snare drums I believe. They are very hollow and light weight. Kinda hard to get that crispy snare sound on that shell. Norfolk State marched on them for about a year but they went right back to Dynasty.
The new school snares beating on a bucket. I pray they don't start marching with those heads, y'all please don't become bucket beaters. Old school snares sound crisp New school snares sound like a tenor drum.

I wish that Alabama State University would keep everything they have. But, get some tuned bass drums and have bass drummers that play split parts! Other than that, they're golden!!
It would take their cadences to the next level but wouldn’t really change much of anything while playing with the rest of the band, at least to me.
