The world of 40k isn't just warp monsters and ravenous xenos. It's social and political horror turned up to eleven (thousand). So what's more awful? The Inquisition deciding to eradicate a loyal chapter who objected to their actions? Or a single Inquisitor making the decision to wipe out a loyal chapter, because he's petty, drunk on power, and must have his way in all things?

    There's a world where the inquisitor's actions initially made sense. Maybe he thought the world could be saved just to realize that the chaos taint was too deep only after his agents were free to investigate more deeply once the active combatants were killed. That's the kind of cold calculation you might expect or even desire from an inquisitor. BUT, if that was the case it should have been simple to sit down with the lion's leadership and explain it.
    The inquisition often seems to start with something reasonable only to escalate to cartoon villains when something doesn't go to plan. See also, the months of shame. In a way it makes me dislike them. It feels like they too often go from complex characters to one dimensional parodies. I can't wait for the inquisition to eat some shit but I think the big space marine vs. inquisition payoffs won't come until Russ returns and who knows how many years that will be.

    My opinion has always been "F*** the Inquisition", Justice for the Celestial Lions I say!.

    This is one of those stories that should end with a big audit and a primarch starring at a group of hereticus inquisitors and being very salty in his comments on the situation

    How many ships should a chapter have? They only have 1000marines.

    Clearly the downfall of the Lions was orchestrated by Inquisitor Apollyon’s enemies to discredit him.

    Inquisitor Apollyon? That is a myth based story.. meaning they were just a story to make a point, not a chapter written to exist.

    As cool as the inquisition is, the celestial lions story really bothers me. It would be great if the inquisition handled this from within and quietly.

  • @orien3582
    @orien3582 ปีที่แล้ว

    I genuinely want to believe 1 inquisitor just threw a fucking temper tantrum because these people exist in life.
    You can be competent and intelligent but with a paper thin ego that once shattered your forever a fucking problem to them and they will try to sabotage you in any way and refuse to acknowledge the things they do while smiling knowing that you know

    • @jeffy1862
      @jeffy1862 ปีที่แล้ว

      Clearly it’s not just 1 unfortunately since this sabotage has been going on for well past the life span of a single rotten inquisitor.

    Celestial Lions disagree with the Inquisition and get almost destroyed.
    Space Wolfs have a small war with the Inquisition and are totally fine.

    This is why the inquisition needs to either be disbanded or seriously reigned in.
