When I first heard this song, I was at a camp meeting in the tent with the older folk due to my preference in learning style and music. The singers at the front asked us for songs for them to sing, and somebody in the middle picked 373. Let me tell you, my heart was beating with excitement when I heard the two part choras with hundreds of men singing the bassy melody! I later found the song and listened to it so earnestly that I learned to play it on ouano entirely by ear; and I'm a violinist! A couple of years later (this year), I got to sing it up the front with the rest of the choir for the closing hymn, and as a bass myself, this was a dream come true! This really is an awesome song!
Learning 350 songs of the same style takes more time than they've lived, though. When I was a child, I was playing with the other kids and/or drawing during the service, so minus a few years again. Even after that, I was still distracted, and if I weren't blind I'd be struggling with work or study or both right now. But not everyone is blessed in the same way as I am, with my blindness.

Amen
Amen. The young people don't know half the songs in the hymnal.
