Can we really hate on nightmare for not telling dream about the bullying when dream didn't tell nightmare about the village using him? They both had problems they hid from each other but didn't want to place more on the others shoulders so they choose the way people handling things when it gets bad and the other would get mad, to lien and hide the truth.

@@shinobumeatrider And they also don't even talk about how they grew up without any one to guide them and because of this nightmare was forced to take the older brother role to keep dream safe plus the amount problems they would have Dream is most likely dyslexic with ADHD and now he has zero school smarts Nightmare also has zero school smarts but knows some things because of books, anxiety problems like hell, would pull a whole error if some one touches him, both would have PTSD, nightmare would also have speech problems if he did survive with motion disabilities, constant pain that would take a lot of time to go away and still come back, to put it simply they would both need a ton of therapy to be healed.

I really like that in your reaction plot the line of nightmare's becoming as a psychopath is very clearly traced. if you look at the ontogenesis of various types of psychopathies in documented patients / criminals, you can find many similar moments with those shown in the videos that you used for the reaction: starting from borderline relations with dream, ending with the split of personality / the structure of memories. on purpose or not, but I like how realistic the picture of the state of nm's psyche and his current patterns of behavior are. (my apologies if there any mistakes in words meaning: I'm completely sure I use the right terms but I'm not sure if I translated them correctly 😅) so whatever corrupted nightmare is (orig nm's personality split, another spirit being that was created one way or another, or mby he is the orig nm whos personality was slowly broken due many traumatic events, ect.) - he's a really interesting character to analyse and to use in plot, if the au's creator wrote him good 🥰 just like in your case
I came up with a theory... What if nightmare is manipulative towards others because he doesn't know any better? Canonically he was just some goop, but took over nightmares body. So, corrupted saw the cruelty of how bad the villagers treated him. He really didn't see anything other than others using people or hurting them and being manipulative. Also, he is just pure negativity afterall. But in some AUs corrupted and nightmare are the same, so in such a AU he maybe didn't get other treatment than being manipulated and used. Just a randim theory I came up with right now.
