A-4K Skyhawk HUD Tape Compilation 1

Lots of great stuff in this, complete with audio. Air combat manoeuvring (ACM), ship strikes (including infra-red AGM-65G Maverick footage), air-to-ground weapon delivery (guns, rockets and bombs), air-to-air refuelling (buddy tanking and Aussie Boeing 707), sim strikes on various targets, circuits, landings and take-offs. Shows all of the different Kahu Nav/Attack system modes and how the HUD worked in each of these. There is also a bit of air-to-air radar (APG-66) video in here. I put this compilation together to use for Avionics training courses that I ran at Ohakea, using the best bits from many HUD tapes I had been given by various pilots over the years.

Hi Don, 18:03 ... is that a previous saved mark point the pilot is attacking with rockets? Because the caret on the heading bar moves during the turn towards that target on the HUD. Cheers

That appears to be very similar symbology to a markpoint from other US jets. Not only does the caret move but there also appears to be a markpoint box over the target. There are probably a number of ways to input a markpoint in the A-4K

So much talent, wasted when the ACF was disbanded. From the ground crew to the pilots, engineers, etc. Just because of a politicians hatred for the military.
