He has been observing the leaf for years until he found an uchiha he could mold. Arranging the entire scenario with rin and the three tails to break obito into dispair. As obito had already been under madara care for months the idea of what he wanted to achieve was already implanted. It just needed a catalyst to take hold in obito mind. A more subtle form of brain washing taking advantage of the change in obito brain and chakra to make him his full proxy. To the point obito would not hesitate to attack the leaf and strike at his former mentor. Obito chose this path he was still manipulated into making that choice. Once his mindset was broken.

I agree that she was presented way to suddenly without proper built up, but that's because, if you have read his interviews, Kishimoto wanted to finish the series as quickly as possible because he couldn't handle the absurd amount of work required back in the day to publish a weekly series (and still hasn't improved enough, but definitely has gotten at least better since authors are allowed to take a week off every three weeks or stop the publication when they have health issues).

The reason why I still watch these clips is the tasteful hand to hand blade to blade tactical side of the battles not the over powered ones even though those are fun to watch too I just love how Sauske and Obito use the body switching to throw off their enemies

This was the most terrifying version of Obito, so brutal, and running through people like a ghost slicing through them. Also that Wood style jutsu of having branches sprouting out of their bodies is like something out of a horror movie.
This scene is still as heartbreaking and traumatic as ever, Obito's descent into Hell, he didn't deserve that, if only Kalashi and the other ninjas could have seen that, they would have better understood this poor Obito. 😔

Sadly this is the censored TV version. The whole sequence has compeltely different SFX on the uncut version (much gorier) and at 1:32 to 1:40 there are multiple missing cuts that were edited out. 2:17 till end was also significantly darkened on this censored version

The uncensored version was only later made available through DVD and BD releases. I don't think Crunchyroll ever bothers with replacing their footage, so unless they licensed an older series, where uncensored footage is already widely available, they tend to only have the TV versions, which may be censored depending on the timeslot. Bleach also had some episodes, that were heavily censored on jp TV and thus Crunchy too with edited out blood and changed SFX (most notorious the kenpachi vs nnoitra fight), but for Bleach the censorship on jp TV in general was not as much as for Naruto.

In the uncensored version you can hear lot more meatcrunch sound, and can also see how Obito smashes the last guys head multiple times until his fist gets stuck in his head and had to pull it out, oh and you can see more clearly the dead bodies in the big tree thing.

This is why Kakashi will always be my favorite. I love Obito but like all the Uchiha his emotions get the best of him. Kakashi is one of the only characters who went through unimaginable loss and sorrow and didn’t allow himself to crash out and go full emo homicidal edgelord because of it.

This is why Kakashi will always be my favorite. I love Obito but like all the Uchiha his emotions get the best of him. Kakashi is one of the only characters who went through unimaginable loss and sorrow and didn’t allow himself to crash out and go full emo homicidal edgelord because of it.
