Here's a little story that a friend of my dad's David Plaquette Jazz singer Piano player from America told me and my mate Bin when we were painting his house on waiheke Island .. in the seventies he did a tour of Australia with SPIKE MULLIGAN!!!! DOING THE INCIDENTAL MUSIC ON THE PIANO FOR SPIKE they were driving across Australia in a rover car ( sponsor) and saw a dead kangaroo on the side of the road Spike made David stop and got a black tailed dinner jacket out of the car and put it on the kangaroo David was about to take a photo of Spike sitting next to the kangaroo when it started to quiver and have a little fit Spike jumped up startled and the kangaroo got up and jumped off into the outback wearing Spikes dinner jacket
Thanks Shawn, I thought/hoped these Kiwi legends would appeal to you and it's always nice to be right. Think it's plain to see why the likes of April Sun in Cuba, Rain, Are You Old Enough and Young Years have remained radio staples for so long, if only down under. That said, was pretty astonished to watch a prog show on youtube the other day (In the Prog Seat on Sea of Tranquility), covering bands beginning with the letter D and have one of the American panellists mention Dragon (and even hold up their second album - on vinyl!). Of course he then had to go and ruin it by calling them Australian, but ya can't have everything I guess...!
Amazing overview of Dragon. Not vitally important in the scheme of things but the pronunciation of Melbourne (there's a trick to it) requires imagining that the ourne is instead erne and is said very quickly almost disappearing as soon as you say it 😲.
Try "Anchor Me", "Dominion Rd", "Nature" and "Don't Fear The Reaper" from a NZ band called the Mutton Birds. You look brave and genuinely interested enough in Kiwi Music to be curious. I think I heard you mention a town pronounced as "Toe ra ma nooey", Taumaranui. Cold place and lots of log fires smoke the place up day and night. Famous New Zealand film (Smash Palace) was filmed near there A vision of the Virgin Mary happened at a small waterfall just north of the town. Some cures have been attributed to bathing in its water. Mount Doom (Lord of the Rings) can be seen from the town centre when the clouds go away. Mt Doom's real name is Mt Ngaruahoe (trying saying that one too lol) and it is an active volcano.

Thanks always appreciate the help. We do the best we can but reacting to music from all over the world not going to get it all right.

No! The only thing that was gay was those shoulder pads. The 80s also gave us the high-cut swimsuit.
