It may have been traditional but in any rituals involving animal sacrifices is gruesome. The offerings of live animals to make deity happy is a medieval practice yet we are in 21 century. Yes we do raise animals for human consumption but to say our gods are just as blood thirsty is something we are insulting our own conscience.
