As a recovering addict, this one always hits hard. I lost my mom in the midst of my addiction, and sadly she never saw me clean again. Today, I'm 15 years clean. Her death was my catalyst for change.
That's amazing ❤ keep being the strong, beautiful and courageous person you've become! I'm still not quite there yet but comments like your's really really push me to work harder on my sobriety. Thank you for this comment. You have no idea how much I needed to read this right now. I hope you're doing wonderful and living a happy and healthy life because you deserve it
I found your reaction because every few months I search for Blue October reactions to see if anyone recently discovers them! I love this band & love watching others fall in love with them too
My son is an addict who I love with all my heart. It has now become “our song”. It is his ringtone on my phone. Unfortunately, I am waiting for him to get to the clarity moment of this song.
These guys are so underrated. That live concert (Texas 2015) was amazing! Several songs from the live from Texas show worth checking out... Light you up, worry list, the feel again.
Agreed they are underrated but the fans they do have are vehement. Saw Justin at a concert once with just him and another guy, each with an acoustic guitar. No other instruments. It was phenomenal. It was an intimate setting with very few dry eyes in the place.
First timer here, to Blue October. The lyrics are so powerful - an addict trying to figure out how to make the pain go away for those he loves. I then went to listen to "Home" - what a complete change in the writer's life. That, too, is a wonderful song - about growing up/into adulthood and the responsibilities it entails. Thanks for the intro!
Blue October is so raw. Justin sings his whole life story. Hate me is from early on, and Home is from a time later. Every song in between is a chapter that lead to him at "Home". Full of ups and down, as with any life. I think you'll love how positive "Fear" is, but there are just so many great songs. They are always good live too.
My son committed suicide 5 years ago. I've never had an addiction issue, but this song hits different now than it did when it first came out. I know it's not about me, but I constantly second-guess and wonder what else I could have done to help him. I hope he's found more peace where he is now than he felt when he was here.
From a mama, with Bipolar, Anxiety and PTSD, of 2 sons to another parent of a son, the second guessing and what could I have done is the overwhelming majority feeling. It's hard boulder to get off your back, please chip it away. ❤🩹💜💙 If you listen to Linkin Park, One More Light is about more than Chris and Chester, it was written for one of their long time team member who passed from cancer. However, it can be just about anything..the same with So Far Away by Avenged Sevenfold.
This song stuck with me years ago as I was in an extremely dark place struggling to keep going and family could only say just pull yourself up by the bootstraps and pull yourself out of it. People have no clue how hard it is to drag yourself out of that dark hole. Years of a dealing with depression, psych meds, stints in the psych ward, but I made it. Occasionally you still feel the pull of sinking into that place again and you know you have to fight to go the other way as you know you won’t make it out again. You felt like a disappointment, failure and that your family just hated you and what you were putting them through. But they just couldn’t grasp that it was just out of your control and you just wanted it to all stop, no matter how it stopped, you just wanted peace of mind, even if it meant no longer being. I’m glad I made it as a lot don’t. This song just spoke to me and still does.
I grew up listening to 60’s, 70’s rock and every decade since. I have got to say these guys can absolutely stand with all those older great bands. Love them.
Great band see them every time there in New York so many great songs his live performances are incredible his song are amazing my favorite band idk where to start just go down the rabbit hole you won’t be disappointed
The official video is another level to the song, that's him and his mom in the video at the end. The Live in Texas version is beautiful. I have Bipolar and Justin Furstenfeld also has it, and I can hear in the songs if he's up down or stable, it's strange but it happens. Anything off the Foiled album is great. *Home, Not Broken Anymore, & Fear* are astonishing songs. I'd dance in the kitchen with my sons to Home ...you have to watch the official video for it, really brings in the family. He has such a powerful unique voice, that it can at times cause the goosebumps and chills. I use music as part of my therapy, and their songs are on different playlists. Mental health is a hard journey, you might as well have some fricken awesome soundtracks on that journey. The recording you heard at the start is an actual message his mom left him on his machine. He did a short album for Stephenie Meyer to go with the Twilight Saga
Blue October is my fav band of all thime..THEY ARE SO MUCH BETTER LIVE. Good on cd EMOTIONAL AND RAW LIVE... ive seen them 4 times . I was at this concert
Thanks for reacting to my favorite band, they are amazing live. Not sure what else Mikey has requested but I suggest Fear, either the acoustic version or the official video, both are great. This was the first song Justin, the lead singer, wrote after going thru treatment. Love their song "Home" as well, there are sooo many of their songs that I love and only a few that I could go without. Can rarely say that about any group.
My friend showed me this song, I never heard of Blue October. She cried when showing me it, and I didn't listen to the lyrics enough I was just vibing to the music. However after relistening to it, it was way more beautiful.
I listened to them while my little brother was recovering from his addictions and I listen to them now that we lost him 2 years ago from those same addictions, far too soon. To everyone still here and fighting, please keep going.
Love Blue October!! My favorite song of theirs is "Into the Ocean" -- but this is up there too. Also their lives are incredible, especially their more current stuff they have definitely improved over the years IMO.
Next month, I will have 28 years of sobriety and it wasn’t until I got clean that I got diagnosed with a mental health condition. This song always hits home.
Considering what Mikey sent you I'm thinking he requested this The Feel again and The Worry List. All very raw and emotional songs. Justin has a way of capturing emotion in his music like no one I've ever seen. I'd definately would reccomend the acoustic version live of Bleed Out. Much love to my Blue Family. Loved the reaction and your channel.
I deal with the same condition the lead singer deals with (bipolar disorder). Some days the pain is so bad and pit so deep the only thing that keeps me breathing is that I cannot make the ones I love hurt. I fear what happens when they go away.
My mom loved me no matter what. I hated myself no matter what. I will miss her no matter what. I will love her no matter what. I will try to love myself no matter what, for her.
I know everyone saying watch the video so if you do know the mother didn't die his addiction did and that's what he "buried". But they are AMAZING live always!!!❤
As a functioning alcoholic I can relate to this song. Have had many ups and downs due to my addiction and a lot of self-hate. But I can only go forward and not look back, but there have been many times where I accept my mistakes and the hate that comes with it ….if that makes sense.
Ok Sebs, I just watched a new video by Lynard Skynrd's (did I spell that right?) guitarist Johnny Van Sant called Jesus Christ, and it was AMAZING! I always find it so satisfying when those in the rock and country world, after becoming successful, choose at last to profess Christ as Lord. Please watch it, even if you don't do a reaction video.
Lynyrd Skynyrd is the correct spelling. Johnny Van Zant isn't the guitarist but the singer and the younger brother of original singer Ronnie who died in a plane crash.
Hey Sebs, If you get a chance, Imagine Dragons "Demons" and "Believer" are great songs with good messages. Would love to see you react to them. I would watch the music videos with lyrics. Its pretty awesome. One of the few bands out there that I will let my kids listen to because the the Lyrics are clean and meaningful and Music has a distinctive sound.
A suicidal son's plea to his loving mother so he can do what he needs to do without hurting her. He wants to leave but cannot because she still loves him unconditionally.

Secure a copy of Blue October's "Foiled" album, and listen to it start to finish without interruption. Do it immediately, without delay. It will give the context to really appreciate this song, plus it will introduce you to several more bangers. Thank me later.
Dear Sebs, could you ‘do’ two pearls: Dire Straits - You and your Friend- Live On The Night (1992/1993) and check out: Dr Viossy - moonsonata by Ludwig von Beethoven .. both incredible of you ask me. 😊
I know it's been a while, since you had a reaction on Dire Straits - how have you not watched Mark Knopfler, play his extended solo on Telegraph Road..... he'll piss you off again, esp sinve you are such a guitar virtuoso......... please, it is more than a simple request by many of the watchers of your previous vids from them....

I do exactly the same! My top band! I've seen them live 6 times and met them all them times! Most incredible humans in the world!
I do the same.

I start most days with Blue October's Fear. It eases my crazy anxiety.
It’s my Morning Mantra
Absolutely amazing music! 💙💙💙

Thanks for introducing great music to us who watch. I’ve never heard them before. These are struggles in every family and I’m totally into it.
Fall down the Blue October rabbit Hole you will not be disappointed.

So sorry for your loss.
Just saw them live. Had a meet and greet with them and it was amaaaaazing! They clearly love their fans.
Me too, in March on Long Island.

FANTASTIC
I feel that the video for this one you should watch even if it's alone.. the visuals help put the lyrics into perspective.. Awesome reaction!!
I grew up listening to 60’s, 70’s rock and every decade since. I have got to say these guys can absolutely stand with all those older great bands. Love them.

Such a powerful song with life & how precious with ups & downs! He last bit with screams chills me. Great review and you always are great!

Blue October is my fav band of all thime..THEY ARE SO MUCH BETTER LIVE. Good on cd EMOTIONAL AND RAW LIVE... ive seen them 4 times . I was at this concert
OMG First turned onto Blue October in 2007 with "Calling you" obsessed with
me too!
Last minute always hits me. Struggles are brutal with mental or addiction and its toll on families & friends. Keep up the fight like you said!
I been listening to Blue October like 10 + yrs you will not be disappointed if you dive into them they are an excellent band

I requested Fear & Worry List
Blue October are one of my favorite bands! Home and King (live) are my favorites. Fear and Hate Me too. They're great live.
Also love their song
Into The Ocean ❤️
The video of this rips my heart out everytime.
My friend showed me this song, I never heard of Blue October. She cried when showing me it, and I didn't listen to the lyrics enough I was just vibing to the music. However after relistening to it, it was way more beautiful.
Welcome to the Blue October rabbit hole!
I listened to them while my little brother was recovering from his addictions and I listen to them now that we lost him 2 years ago from those same addictions, far too soon. To everyone still here and fighting, please keep going.
Beautiful reaction
Moving, believable, important. Great singer. You feel the pain.
I’m here because I’m a fan of Blue October. And watching people experience them for the first time makes my heart happy
Love Blue October!! My favorite song of theirs is "Into the Ocean" -- but this is up there too. Also their lives are incredible, especially their more current stuff they have definitely improved over the years IMO.

My all time favorite band. I cry every time I hear this one.
My favorite band. I have the lyrics from Graceful Dancing tattooed on my shoulder. My anthem after my brother died…
Blue October is my fave band. They have some of the best lyrics. Love them. I hope you dive in and listen to more.
Thank you. Great reaction! Looking forward to your reactions to Fear & The Worry List.
Next month, I will have 28 years of sobriety and it wasn’t until I got clean that I got diagnosed with a mental health condition. This song always hits home.
CONGRATS
Considering what Mikey sent you I'm thinking he requested this The Feel again and The Worry List. All very raw and emotional songs. Justin has a way of capturing emotion in his music like no one I've ever seen. I'd definately would reccomend the acoustic version live of Bleed Out. Much love to my Blue Family. Loved the reaction and your channel.
The acoustic version of Bleed Out is so emotionally beautiful.
I requested this, Fear & The Worry List.
The Feel Again /Stay from the same concert is just as powerful. No one sings their emotions better than Justin Furstenfeld.
I can't get through that version live without bawling my eyes out. Justin poured his soul into that song.
King, Hope your happy, Ugly Side, Inner Glow, 18th Floor Balcony, HRSA. All these are amazing songs.
I haven’t heard this song for a few years now. Instant tears in my eyes. Man.
There's a live acoustic video out there where it's just him and a single guitar playing that is fantastic. It's much slower and much deeper.
This guys voice is amazing!!
ooohh....i love blue october ❤ calling you is great...and into the ocean...my faves...justin has a way of pulling you in and keeping it real
27 years sober and this song brings a tear to my eyes every time.
I watched your reactions to tool. Good stuff. Continue with the blue october rabbit hole. Specifically the boy who argued with a tree live songs.
Please do Fear by them. Justin is one of the best ever at expressing the anguish of the soul.
Also I think you should react to their song Light You Up (the official live video)
Think you would like the acoustic version too. You can really hear the pain in his voice.
I deal with the same condition the lead singer deals with (bipolar disorder). Some days the pain is so bad and pit so deep the only thing that keeps me breathing is that I cannot make the ones I love hurt. I fear what happens when they go away.
Love your reaction!! Can you please visit more Blue October?
Songs kinda crazy good.. fantastic voice❤
Just take a listen to an acoustic version of this song. Talk about feelings... It will blow your mind it's so good! It's so raw and real.
Genesis - Firth of Fifth - Seconds Out album - Live
My mom loved me no matter what. I hated myself no matter what. I will miss her no matter what. I will love her no matter what. I will try to love myself no matter what, for her.
Fear is another deep song from them.
I know everyone saying watch the video so if you do know the mother didn't die his addiction did and that's what he "buried". But they are AMAZING live always!!!❤
The video is misleading, which is why I requested this live version.
The live is so much better too ❤ @@mikenastasi8927
RED CLAY STRAYS - drowning. Broooo it’s a HIT!
Wonderful rabbit hole to travel down
Yes, the music video was rhe way to go for this song. It tells the story visually.
As a functioning alcoholic I can relate to this song. Have had many ups and downs due to my addiction and a lot of self-hate. But I can only go forward and not look back, but there have been many times where I accept my mistakes and the hate that comes with it ….if that makes sense.
Awesome like always.

i like live versions but this is one you need to see the video it is so well done and really drives home what the song is all about
Very good. Please do more Blue October.
I love Justin and Blue October!
I don't know why but he reminds me of Cat Stevens when he sing the slower parts. Never heard of this band or song but it hits hard!
This is a song that I very cautiously.
Sad song but this is some shit that needs to live far past our generations. Gives a lot of people a feeling that they're not alone.
Very good
I am begging you to listen to Stay from this same concert! Amazing!!
