    Hello Jinder I was watching the movie Fishermans friend and when I heard this song I wanted to learn it because it touched two aspects of my life . I am so grateful for this video. I was married for 30 years. My marriage fell apart now my kids are grown. I found a new love who lives very far and I am working my way to her I often send her poems or songs and this one was perfect for what I wanted to say to her so I have been working to do it justice not sure why you wrote it but it is perfect for what is going on in my life thank you.

    My wife loves this song so much! She really wanted you to play at our wedding : ) We had a recording of it during a family video she showed to all the guests. So moving!! We've now been married for 5 years and yesterday, we got news that she's successfully recovered from cancer. It's about time I learned this beautiful song too! Thanks for sharing the tutorial.

      Hi Matt, thankyou for the kind words! More importantly, HUGE congratulations to you both on your wife’s all-clear from the big C! That’s amazing news. I know that sense of immense relief, my Dad has done battle with cancer twice, he’s now 82 and has been clear of it for five years. It’s a b*stard of a disease, but modern medicine is amazing. I’m so glad for you both!!
      If you have any Qs or hit any hitches in learning the song, drop me an email on mmjinder@googlemail.com and I’ll be happy to help. Thanks again and very best to you both!

    Just discovered this gorgeous song when watching the movie “Fisherman’s Friends”. I was immediately taken with the beauty of the chords, the guitar playing, the lyrics and Jinder’s voice. I had to stop the movie and immediately buy the song. Simply perfect. Thanks so much for putting out this tutorial! Very generous of you to share this masterpiece. 🎸👍❤️😊

    Great Tutorial and a great song, been learning your Waiting Line for a while now, shame my ear is no good, only have figured the intro chords out, the riff at the start is giving me some trouble along side getting the tone right! 😅

      You’re very welcome! I’d love to hear your version when you’ve worked it out. My advice would be to not worry too much about learning it note for note and chord for chord, just take the basic shape and make it your own…change things, add bits, chop bits out as you wish, enjoy!

      Thankyou!! You’re very welcome ☺️ I’m glad you noticed the guitar-The big Gibson is my constant companion, has been with me for a long time now and we’ve travelled the world together. It’s been on everything I’ve released in the last five years and sounds better and better every time I pick it up!

    Thanks for your tutorial, an entertaining mix of wit, clear explanations, cross references and encouragement to experiment. Loved the ostentatious posh chords in useful sequences. Discovered you via Ebay. Similar lesson on 'I wish I could have known you better ' maybe? Best wishes

    Love the song and very much appreciate your willingness to show us how you play it. I was just unsure about one of those frills -- at 7:24 (when you would have just sung "your heart"). You seem to play the Em with your 4th and 5th fingers and then slide up on the A string from the 4th to the 5th fret. Is that right? Thanks.

    • @JinderSongs
      @JinderSongs  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Michael, apologies for the slow reply-you’re right on the fret positions, but it’s on the D string not the A. Ta!

    Looking for the song I found "Crumbs of Comfort" on Itunes. So great!! I love your music. Where can I find more?

    • @JinderSongs
      @JinderSongs  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thankyou Andi! You can find all of my other records on iTunes, Spotify etc if you search for "Jinder", or if you prefer hard copies, I have beautifully pressed and packaged copies of my albums on CD available from my website (www.jinder.co.uk). I'd recommend starting with the two albums I released last year ('The Silver Age' and 'Almanac for the Failing Days') and working backwards from there!

    Love this song, but really struggling to get the grips with the right hand / picking pattern...anyone able to explain the pattern please??

    • @JinderSongs
      @JinderSongs  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thankyou Mark, and thanks for the feedback! I'll try to explain, but it may be best to put it in another video... it's a thumb and two fingers pattern, which starts with the thumb and middle finger plucking two strings at the same time, then becoming a slow roll (thumb, then index, then middle...this roll happens once in between each double-pluck by the thumb and middle finger), then back to the double pluck.
      It's so hard to explain this stuff in writing...I do apologise. I'm essentially a self taught guitarist but have picked up a war chest of little fancy fills and parts that I've heard people I've worked with play over the years and thought "oooh, I'll nick that!"
