Had mine for 2 years, love it! It's helped haul a lot of gear. At first, I had a bit of rattle but put a little foam between the lid, and it cleared it up.

I have the first generation bag and never had any rattling issues you described. I bought mounts for all three of my bikes, road, gravel and Fat. Simply a great h-bar bag.

Clamp is adjustable. Just tighten screw through red lever. Sound disappears. Seem to come on the loose side when received.

So, it's funny to me that you're an Aussie that moved stateside, while I'm a Yank that lives in Oz! Great channel, great review. I'd already purchased my Route Werks bag when I stumbled upon your review, but it was nice to have my thoughts and convictions about the bag confirmed. Now, if it'd just get here sometime in this year, that'd be great. Aussie Post will win no awards.....

I've had this bag since it came out. Absolutely brilliant bag. 👍 Works fine with my Redshift stem.

Glad to hear it plays nicely with that stem, a very popular item.

Very thorough review, that bag looks great, and hi from a very warm Brisbane, Queensland.

Nice work, as usual, Jom. Agree 100% with everything you've said. I bought one some months back for an upcoming multi-day trip. On the first shake down ride, the lid rattle drove me insane. Finally snugged it up with some strategically placed adhesive backed foam strips. For the money, it should come out of the box this quiet. Route Werks should think about a foam or silicone gasket on the bottom edge of the lid. That said, it's a good bit of kit. Bought one for my wife for Christmas. 🤫

Different look for you mate. Almost look like a banger from the 80's Super great video

I also have the bag from the first generation, delivered to Germanxy. Not cheap, but worth every euro.

    Great review Jom
My girl friend has had one for 3 years now and it’s her favourite piece of cycling gear. The bag has held up amazingly well, still looks like new. She has 2 mounts and easily swaps the bag between bikes. As mentioned earlier the tension on the red lever is adjustable, making it easier or harder to lock the red lever, probably the source of the rattle you are hearing
Did you ever build up your polished lynskey? Been a viewer for years and might have missed that video, I was looking forward to it

Thank you! Will be tweaking my locking lever ASAP. Polished Lynskey still residing in a box. I should build it one of these days...

I CANNOT believe all of these positive comments. My bag rattles terribly EVEN after adding double layers of tape along all the edges AND adding weight to the lid. I think it is unconscionable that Route Werks charges OVER $160 for this UNPERFECTED piece of XXXX!!!

I tightened up the clamp mechanism, all and any noise, barring contents banging around, stopped.

Thanks for that detailed review! What's your inside measurements of the handlebar (between the drops, inside to inside)? Was wondering if one or two handlebar studs would fit a 38mm handlebar.

just got mine from the US, I have no box because I just asked my uncle to bring it home in the Philippines. Any idea why the bag can't be use with suspension forks?

Any idea if it works with inline-brake-levers?
The shape looks like there could be space with handlebars which are not on the super narrow side?!!??

    • @GravelCyclist
      @GravelCyclist  ปีที่แล้ว

This could work, depending on how you angle them. Btw, the bag was fitted to 42cm out to outside bars in the video

Do you know what ever happened to route werks having an UK distributor? Went to but it nearly two years ago and the postage and import duties tallied up to one and half times the base price of the bag. Which I deemed not worth it.

Hi there, I suggest dropping a message to their website.

We've been working on this. Not for lack of trying. We know there are riders in the UK that want our bag. Looking for a partner to help make it happen.

Way to much for a handle bar bag😂

Nah, every other handlebar bag pretty much sucks compared to this. Anyway, they are currently selling for considerably less at the time of this comment.

@GravelCyclist yeah I've looked around for every possible bar bag and this takes the cake by a huge leap. The price is steep but the design is far far above everything else out there.

Buy once and only cry once. Have you had other bags? They're either hideous, or they're cheaply made (or both!) and you'll have to replace them before this one wears out. You get what you pay for....

@@denverman6161963 true that, this is one of those things that even though it's expensive the features and benefits is worth every penny. My bag just arrived today and took it for a ride. Best bar bag I've tried!
