Im happy to say that this is the best song i ever heard... bossfight is such a unique artist the vocals the melody bass everything is just good hope you continue to do your thing legend...
Tell me Bossfight Do you set yourself into the kind of music producers that are on a mastery level? 'Cause i think you are and your track Sovereign totally proves it to me
Ahhh man, shit. This is really good, but I almost never like lyrics in dubstep, and this hasn't changed my opinion. I wanna love Bossfight's music like I did back with the Heks EP, Sonder, the Bipolar Remix, and so on; but ever since Subside I just haven't found this stuff as impressive or creative, with the only exceptions being Sovereign and the Isolation remix, and even then some aspects of Sovereugn while very high quality are kinda generic dubstep sounds. The Isolation remix I gotta say is easily Bossfight's best music, because it felt unique and creative like the old stuff, but even higher quality like the new stuff. I'd really like to see some more use of granular synthesis for both ambient sounds and as modulators for Vocodex basses, or maybe some more of the kinda stuff you did with those crazy sounding reese basses in Mescalink's drop. Maybe this is just me, but I feel like if your music isn't going to be very immersive like something like Sonder or the Heks EP or parts of the Isolation remix, then you should try to make sure it's very offbeat and unique. Now aspects of this are immersive, and it does sound good, don't get me wrong Bossfight is still good; but I just feel like in middle period I keep coming back to after the old chiptune/dance music and before Subside he was pumping out masterpieces, and that that and Isolation are the peaks of his quality, and I kinda wanna see myself proven wrong. _Edit: I kinda went off on a tangent huh? Whoops. Yeah; if you couldn't tell, I've bottled this up for quite a bit, so now it's come out it just kinda... well came out, so it wasn't very plannned. I held back from saying this for a long time just because I've felt every time I just needed to wait until the next one, and then I'd like the new style or he'd go back to his old style._
I completely agree. Heks EP were some of my favorite songs, but Sonder is also fantastic. They just seem so fresh and the details are incredible. While this song is high production quality, it's nothing extremely catchy, and the sound design and overall atmosphere is just not as impressive.
I’m a diehard fan of the bronco space program and heks and I feel the same way. This song is lit, but I almost feel like the sick drop could be used better in a song that fit its style more (with less lyrics). I might just be an over critical fan though.
Well look who we got here? :p I totally agree, ever since subside his music changed to appeal to a wider amount of listeners, I agree that the overall quality of his sound design has grown and same goes for his mix. Now, with the vocals, I'm not always a fan of vocals, in this instance I don't rlly like them, but it's his choice what instrumentation he uses to express the idea he had when he created this piece, so I can't condone him for using a vocalist. Other than that I think this piece is one of the few good ones that he released after his 'change', it's unique in the sense that I love how me mixed those plucks with the vowely bass in the drop, the rest is sorta typical to what modern dubstep sounds like. I will give it to him that he did make a few headbangers (like Carol of the Cartels) but none of them have created a good atmosphere around them that I could call them unique, unlike his older music. I do still like his stuff tho, and even if I don't listen to it nearly as much, I'm curious what he'll bring in the future, he might just become the new Virtual Riot, you never know. :p
@@crts1683 If you're being condescending like that, it seems like you missed the whole point of this, so let me state this again more simply and clearly: Bossfight *is still good.* Let me make clear that while I think that his new stuff is worse, I think his old stuff was god-tier. Best music I've heard in my life, and I make it myself. Bossfight has every right to ignore this and carry on with this style. Being less distinct, it's probably got more mainstream appeal, and is therefore more profitable; and if Bossfight's making more money off of these, good on him. I feel he deserves it. Still, I doubt money was the primary motivation for this change in style, so I do believe he would heed some constructive criticism; and I also feel that's something not only he, but every big musician needs more of. You can't really blame anyone for it, but the vast majority of people don't understand music; so regardless of what you think of the quality of my music, I feel that knowing how music is made, I have a kind of responsibility to provide some detailed constructive criticism; because it's so hard for others to do that. As nice as support is, getting too many comments saying "THIS IS FIRE" "SERIOUS BOP" "SICK", is unhelpful. Again, I don't blame people for it, they wouldn't know how to explain why they enjoyed it properly; unless they made it themselves...
@Mapuchi That's what was going over in my head for a while. I was reluctant to speak up about this, because it's such a stereotypical music snob thing. I stayed quiet for a while because I thought maybe this was just a nostalgaic "phase", and in a month's time it'd pass, but to this day it still nags me... I suppose the important thing I need to ask you though is: do you think I'm being fair? I obviously reckon I'm being fair. I usually feel sequels or new content of old artists gets too much criticism, I've listened to the new tracks over and over listening for the smaller details that immersed and amazed me in the older content, and I just haven't heard it; but seeing no-one else voice a similar opinion (until now, to be fair), is making me feel like I'm just mad.
Yeah no sleep because it's like 3 a.m. here.
