    Big difference in your time taken to shoot with the orange , also the blue shot consistently high giving the impression that it may not be sighted in correctly . The orange is supposedly more accurate out of the box but can’t really agree that this was a accurate comparison between the 2 remembering this is only my opinion for what it’s worth . I have just purchased a blue and look forward to shooting it . Being an average shooter as far as accuracy I am hoping I can improve it a little . Thanks for taking the time to make this video .

    Mine shot well, my groupings were better than a Sig and Walther PPQ. But I don't like the top slide. It's not tall enough, not much grooves to help with grip, and it's hard to rack it back. Thank you for making this comparison, especially that there's a huge price difference.

    • @azzatac9763
      @azzatac9763 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for your comment Paul O. I found the same with my slide. I put a lighter recoil spring in it (10lbs) and it is heaps better to rack. The price difference makes it not really worth it if you are just shooting IPSC. If you are shooting matches that require you shoot over 50m I think it would be worth it. Thanks for this comparison video; I've been curious as to what I'm missing with my Shadow 2 (Black).
    There are not much content out there where shooters actually bench or try to minimize the human element to test a gun's accuracy. I am happy to see you also shoot 10 round groups and then just account for the occasional flyer.
    My Shadow shoots 125 grain best (Hornady HAP, LOS, or really any decent hollow point). With Power Pistol, 5 shot groups will consistently group (benched) at 1.5 inches at 25 yards (with the occasional 1 inch group), but 115s and 147s are fine too. The Shadow seems to be just a hair less accurate than a comparable 1911 9mm, but that still beats 98% of the other guns out there.

    • @azzatac9763
      @azzatac9763 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks again for your comments AC. I think my Shadow 2 Blue is only a little bit less accurate than the orange. A comparison like this is hard to do. I aim to do more at some different distances. Honestly you are not missing out on much over 25m. I think 50m is where I will see the most difference. 115 HAP is a really good projectile and works well with all my pistols but they are quite expensive.

    You can't reliably report which pistol has better precision - group size measures precision, not accuracy - without measuring and reporting group sizes including so-called flyers.
    If you want to report relative accuracies, total up the score for each target, or determine the centroid of each group and measure its distance from the target center.

    Do yourself a favor, install the 10X bushing from Cajun Gunworks on a Shadow 2 Blue and you'll get just as good results if not better than the CZ S2 Orange. The Orange while nice is overpriced and for USPSA/IPSC is not needed, the regular CZ S2 will suffice...

      @@azzatac9763 Yes, I have both of them the blue and Orange, tested the Blue with the Cajun 10X bushing and it offers extreme tight groups. Also, when removing the barrel you need to wiggle it out of the slight due to the tight bushing. So the bushing makes the barrel a tad bit more accurate, it's basically accurizing the Blue for $60 USD vs an Accu Bushing of $350 plus labor cost, etc... But for IPSC/USPSA it's not truly needed the Blue is plenty accurate enough... What makes the pistol is the shooter, not the gadgets or aftermarket stuff.... Does it help? Yes, is it needed? That's debatable... But as with any competitive sport you want just as much as every advantage as you can obtain... Best of luck to you... Check out Cajun Gunworks and look for the 10X bushing! Appreciate you making the video and shooting from a rested position to try and remove shooter skill from the equation, although I'd like to note for others that some shooter error did make its way into the video since you're flinching a bit on the trigger squeeze (check out 3:36 when the gun doesn't go off when the hammer drops, you can see the flinch perfectly there). Maybe some more dry fire training (and live fire with some dummy rounds in the mag) might help with this, but let's be real, even the best shooters sometimes flinch when shooting pistols, and it's a really difficult issue to try and eliminate completely. At least for me, I find that some days I don't flinch and can shoot great, and other days I'm flinching and pulling shots without noticing it. Just wanted to mention the issue since it does affect the quality of the results a bit and should be taken into account, but hope this doesn't come off as too nitpicky.

    Listen, in-accuracy or accuracy has little to do with the gun, provided both guns are sighted or calibrated properly; and yes the orange might be more accurate for "you" it might not be for others. In the end, it's not the gun itself; ( yes ammo can be a factor) it's the person pulling the trigger.

      Thanks Alexander Mar for your comment I agree with you, I have just tried to provide my experience with both the pistols.
      To be honest sometimes I shoot better with the blue but I still think the orange is the accurate of the two pistols for anyone, mainly because of the barrel to slide fit.

      G'day the OAL changes with different projectiles. My general rule is as long as I can make them and not touch the lans, and also works in the magazine.

      Don't have anything at the moment. Two more painful months to go... Been looking for a pistol that I can shoot bullseye with but also do ipsc with in the future. The shadow seems to fit the bill. The bullseye shooting was why I was wondering about the orange moreso. In reality the blue will outshoot me but there's not much info on the two other than your video and a few threads so didn't want to buy twice and cry twice. I handled a shadow 1 today at a gun shop, theyre a very nice gun so the blue will do id say and can mod the parts I want to then.

    • @azzatac9763
      @azzatac9763 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The aftermarket barrel bushing increases the accuracy of the Blue to the Same if not better than the orange. The main difference really is the Orange is made by KMR and the blue is not. I would go on used guns and pick up a blue from there and then upgrade from there.
      When you are ready send me an email and I'll sort out all your upgrade parts. 😉

    Good, informative comparison video. Clearly, the Shadow 2 Orange performs better at 25m from a prone, supported shooting position but, I'd like to see how you shoot them standing, offhand at 10-15m? I'm running a CZ Custom Shadow Orange SP-01 I got back in 2017 for Steel Challenge matches and have considered switching to the Shadow 2. Now that I've watched this video, it seems like it would be worth upgrading to the Shadow 2 Orange. I don't reload my own ammo but, for factory ammo, my CZ likes Geco, S&B, Winchester White Box NATO, and Magtech 124gr. FMJ. Thanks, mate! Cheers!
