    He was tortured for days and maintained the strength to stay silent. He knew he would die and sacrificed his life in the face of evil to protect history. We will not forget his heroism.

      +Alyosha The question remains what will WE do. Most people don't even bother considering to learn history. Now our heritage is being destroyed after it stood the passing of time for thousands of years .Outrageous and pathetic.

    I met Khaled on 3 different occasions, worked alongside him in his office. He was nothing but giving of the knowledge he had, it was his passion and his life to talk and discuss history. Like many he was fascinated by ancient history and understood that we can learn so much about ourselves and our present day by understanding the past.
    I feel so upset at what has happened and keep crying about it. I can't imagine how his family feel, but my utmost sympathy to them. Please be assured he was a wonderful man who brought delight and knowledge to many.

      Did you bother reading the story of why?
      They didn’t think he was going to harm them.
      This is why there is so much chaos and misunderstanding in the world. People don’t read.

    A true hero. In a conflict where so many on both sides are willing to risk life and limb to fight and destroy and kill, he was refused to kill and died defending humanities shared heritage. This is something we should be rallying around, this is a Muslim hero, a person who stood up for peace and knowledge and was willing to die but not fight.

    The Western world has no plan. Was Saddam Hussein really that bad?
    Wikipedia says: "Saddam Hussein treasured his national heritage immensely and acted to defend these sites and the artifacts within them."
    The cooperation between Putin and Assad is a good sign.

    what about islamic state in Libya yemen and afghanistan?.
    they have taken the city of sirte in the libyan civil war.
    with yemen being in its own civil war what is to say that isn't there next target.
    yemen is predominantly shia muslim so they could turn the Sunnis against the shias.

      *****a ne Even if he did, it makes no sense. Nobody even knows much about religious associations to this temple, why not the Roman ones too and did Mohammed also say they should torture people to get ancient artifacts -doubtless also 'religious' - to sell to idolaters.

    • @eliesputnik
      @eliesputnik 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** Destruction and theft by the hand of Man, not God or Karma. Question is - given that ISIS actions are not explained by Islam or even their stated interpretation of it - what is the agenda . . .

    • @eliesputnik
      @eliesputnik 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** Not according to the vast majority of Muslims for hundreds of years. Would you rather believe a tiny minority whose actions do not exactly recommend them as highly spiritual?
