In my place the summer is very harsh so should I keep my plant in shade or partial sun shade n all the five plants r together in one big pot so do I have to separate them
Three possibilities spring to mind: a rose with rosehips after flowering has finished; an espaliered pomegranate with immature fruit; a pyrocantha or cotoneaster japonica: any of these might be grown up a trellis in New Zealand.
Hey Austin, passionfruit does have a deep taproot, which needs to be part of any transplant for the best outcome. Are you planting out from the container you purchased it in, or transplanting from elsewhere? ^Meg
Thank you for this video. It was easy to understand and informative. I am curious if I do not have lava rock can I use any type of rocks at the bottom to help drainage?
I got two plants in a pot...need fertilizer to get flowers and set the fruits without fall. Both not higher that 3 feets...only challenge is stupid mites and wine hoppers...
Hi Amarquaye, your first fruit should appear around six to eight months after planting. The fruit ripen from mid-summer onwards. Passionfruit are ripe when the skin turns purple and fruit fall to the ground. ^Cam
What happens if you plant them too close to each other, I planted like 4 right near each other because I love passion fruit, they are like a metre and abit away. If someone could get back to me would be good =)
If they're only about a meter apart, they might compete for nutrients and sunlight as they grow, which can affect fruit production. They could also get tangled, making it harder to manage, and the lack of airflow can make them more prone to diseases. Ideally, passionfruit vines should be spaced around 3 meters apart. If you can't move them, try keeping an eye on them with regular pruning to help with airflow and reduce overcrowding. ^Cam
Mitre 10 New Zealand , thanks , we cut a passion fruit off our tree that was slightly purple and it had nothing inside it, do we have to wait until they fall or should they have fruit inside? Thanks
Yep, you'll want to give attached purple fruit (make sure they're fully purple before picking) a gentle twist when picking them from the vine - they're edible, but won't be as sweet. The ripest fruits will simply drop off the vine, so keep the area under your plant clear to facilitate finding the fruit. ^Charlie
Easy ...buy neem oil and mix with 5ml, 3ml soap with 1ltr water in spray ...insect will die buy soap and they hate hanging out with neem oil...very safe..use after sunset and keep your attack 3 days in a raw...spider mites, aphid, wìnehoppers will say goodbye...
Hi O no,If you want to give it another go plant some bee loving plants, like lavender, close by then that can help attract the bees for pollination ^John

Kia ora Ngahau, we'd recommend to plant passionfruit between mid-spring and mid-summer, or even later in very favourable condition 🤗. ^Cam

Hiya Sophia. Yes, any rocks should do fine ^Nathan
Do you have a video on these from seed. They grow wild here but its hard to find the fruit. I saved the seeds and also have found seeds at the store.

How do I keep the leaves from getting eaten by insects and burned? Can I spray vinegar and dish liquid diluted with water on the plants?
Best to check in with your local store on which products would be suitable for this ^Charlie
