    And I LOVE this thing, I gotta have one! No joke, 3 or 4 years ago I would sit around and dream of quads like this, and whoops with digital HD video! What a time to be alive, and to be in this hobby; how lucky are we...?!

      yea, top mount with a 16x16 stack and a camera in that tight package. Gnarlyfpv did have the guppy similar design, but there were issues with getting a camera in and camera angle. :(

      @@NickBurnsFPV A couple years ago GnarlyFPV used to sell this tiny little frame on their replacement frames page, it was like a whoop-sized frame, but for the life of me I can't remember the name, or find a pic of it. Basically the bottom plate of the Sub Atomic. It used a 16x16 stack mounted diagonally, and one of the NewBeeDrone camera mounts like Kabab's Toothpicks, and whoop props. I kept wanting to order one, but never did, and then it disappeared. I'm glad this new one is out, it's an improvement on that design, I didn't like the camera mount; this one is so much better.

    Gerridae.... Also known as the 'water skimmer/skipper/skeeter/skater/strider/spider', the ponds behind my house were full of them when I was a kid, loved them! Love this li'l skimmer as well, it's like a tiny little 'Tadpole' from Armattan, my favorite quad of the last six months..!

      @@NickBurnsFPV Believe it or not, I knew it..! Waaay back in the 80's I was the weird kid with a net and a jar who spent all day out in the fields catching every six-legged creepy crawly I could, then went to the library and looked them up, made little labels, etc... Then in my early teens I realized entomologists covered in bug bites didn't get quite as many girls as lead guitarists with long hair, and well, life took a left turn... No regrets tho, I've had fun (probably more than my share), I ran a recording studio, did some tours, and later became a guitar builder; but sometimes I think back wistfully to those days out in the fields, and wonder what might have been... C'est la vie, eh?

    • @jackmaddox4960
      @jackmaddox4960 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@NickBurnsFPV No, but I was doing that on my own by age 10, then a science teacher in Jr. High, Mr. Gonzales, let me use his lab after school, and helped me out, basically for extra credit. He also helped me start our school's first model rocket club, the Pinewood Derby Club, and even the (admittedly small) 'Folded Folio Forum', or paper airplane club! I always loved them, as did he, so we'd meet with a few other students and exchange designs & ideas, make a bunch, then launch them out the 2nd floor lab window into the main courtyard to see how far they'd go. He was a great teacher, the last really dedicated teacher I had, honestly. Not too many like that anymore, sadly... Apologies for the long trip down memory lane, not really the forum for it here... :-)

      I have used JESC and BlueJay, as well as JazzMaverick. At this time my preference is bluejay. Changing the khz does help with flight time on micros, it also changes the low throttle response. Outside I find 48khz works well, inside I find the higher khz has a negative impact on my flying, makes turns at speed more challenging, as the props slow down slower.

    Hi Nick Great video and review of the Sub Atomic. I used to call the bug , Water Sketters, but I don't know it looks good with out the 360go. I have been wanting to get one of those new cameras when they come out also. I have built a little 3in and I don't fly it much around others, it's a screamer. LOL Thanks again for the video and information.

      Yes, these types are just so toy like and innocent, just go out and have a nice fun time. Water sketters, sounds like a good descriptive name.
