I wonder what circumstances happened to him to partake in breaking the space time continuum and bring back stuff from the past so that Dr. Cyber can flex on everyone who didn't believe in time travel?
I love the concept of having to fit the artifacts on your minifig! Make me think that there is some real untapped potential today in combining Lego with the ingenuity of modern board games. Imagine a game like Galaxy trucker, where you build a spaceship with limited parts to transport cargo but with Lego instead of cardboard tiles😍
Meteor Strike (2010) was a really fun one, where you place physical constructions on the board and use those to guide a ball into your socket. Cool set!
Ah man, this was cool to find out about. As I'm sure you've noticed I love the Time Cruisers so this is something that exictes me to learn about. About Trdee Fiddy?? Why it was about that time to TimeTwister started looking like a wild animal from the Paleolithic era, and I realized it was that darn LockNess Monster!!!
A reimagined time cruisers could be hugely successful imo and a more coherent way to re-release some old themes, that also could appeal to kids. It's a shame Lego isn't more confident in their own themes and brands. When Marvel was acquired, nobody seriously thought guardians of the Galaxy could become a successful movie series... And Lego's original themes have way more brand recognition than guardians of the Galaxy had back in the day. I had hoped Dreamz could fill in such role, but it seems that won't happen. Just imagine a series where some adventurous group travels from the castle age up to a space faring future in a timeless adventure to stop some kind of evil who wants to temper with these beloved universes. All the while encountering classic Lego characters and themes. It surely would appeal to adults, but it has a real chance to work for kids as well.
We had this game; I wish we'd taken better care of it--most of the cards and pieces are probably missing now, and Warren Industries keeps returning my $3.50 money orders. 😆 The internet says this came out in 1997; I could be wrong, but I think it was available in time for Christmas 1996--I remember this being the first time I heard the phrase "Time Twister"; a harbinger of things to come.
I had this as a kid/still have it in my closet. (I won't find people to play with tough and my girlfriend will probably ban me from the house if I suggest this when we have guests over) But I remember to find this quite a fun game back then.
I love the idea of this game! I remember my Aunt having a LEGO board game, I can’t remember much but there was a wolf and some sheep involved.. Needless to say, it was always the highlight of our caravan summer breaks
Well, now I'm just remembering the LEGO board games theme from 2009, that 6-sided dice element was one of my favorites. It never occurred to me that LEGO might have produced board games before then. EDIT: It's interesting how board game elements have influenced themes like Knights Kingdom 2, Ninjago, and Chima.
There were a handful!! They were all really scuffed: a Bionicle card game where you try to build the Toa Nuva (which I never worked out how to even play), a Bionicle exploratory board game where you explore Mata Nui (winning is pure luck), and the chaos that is X-Pod Playoff (a game whereby to play well you draw the game out for ages), and ofc Slugger's going to talk about the Orient Expedition game one day, but there genuinely were Lego games before then!
I wish they still made LEGO games like this. It’s weird that the company hasn’t tried crossovers recently even in these days of neverending bland multiverses.
I wish they'd release a fully unlocked version of Lego Dimensions. I've heard it has a lot of great stuff to it, but it's locked behind its necessity to buy a bunch of stuff on the aftermarket and so on.
Lego Games was around 2010ish but petered out due to the games just being 'too bland' and often ripping off existing concepts (eg: Monster 4 being a direct Connect 4 ripoff; and buying a Connect 4 is infinitely cheaper than that game). The truly unique concepts were usually just too boring (Banana Balance is impossible to lose and Minotaurus takes AAAAAAGES). But there were some gems in there, like Meteor Strike, whereby you get to position Lego elements on a board and let the orbs bounce between the parts. Heroica was also masterful, but ultimately too simplistic & dice-driven.
Well that's certainly a board game decision, haha! You'd think they'd have made the inner circle more than 18 spaces so that you can't get trampled like that
Man, you just dislodged some deeeeeep memories. I remembered all these pieces and characters individually, but I had totally forgotten they came in a game
Time Cruisers was before my time, but my daycare from when I was little had this board game. I don’t think we ever played it according to the actual rules, but I remember loving the alien helmet and chrome spear.
What’s great about this concept is that it’s easy to home-brew with any theme without actually owning the game! I imagine the spinner could easily be built using a turntable piece. The figures from Everyone is Awesome would make great game pieces. It would be fun to play using artifacts from different modern licensed properties (Star Wars/HP/Marvel/Ninjago/etc).
Based Slugkino Nice to see you got some Western sets! Was thinking of picking up the Tunnelator with the time machine, but maybe I'll get this instead!
It always surprises me how many Lego products outside of sets there are that I've never heard of before. Thanks for bringing them up and for overall more frequent uploads! Looking forward to next one!
Collect 4 artifacts, but they HAVE to be on minifigure? That's an interesting rule. Don't know much about lego boardgames(there was entire theme in 2010's), but the only time I remember that lego requires creativity from players is ninjago spinners, 1 card says that you can build your weapon from anything you have(not only 3 in game weapons), and use it until you win round. To be fair, rules were pretty precise, even hats and skeleton arms counted as in-game mechanics

Is it me or does it seem that the roles have been reversed in this game? The time cruisers are trying to basically steal artifacts for their own self interest while the time twister is the one who is making sure that they stay in their rightful place in the timeline.
Are we sure the Time Twister is the bad guy here? He could just be trying to protect the flow of time the same way the Twisters were in Time Luisers from troublemakers like Tim or these unnamed Cruisers who’ve jacked Biker Bob’s shades…
This game seems more fun than the 2001 Bionicle game, Jakten på Makuta as we call it in our friend group. This at least has some lego elements in it. Lego board games tend to be broken because those are not usually the main toys from lego.

i will save this video so i can make my own lego-compatable game
Something exciting for sure😮
Are we sure the Time Twister is the bad guy here? He could just be trying to protect the flow of time the same way the Twisters were in Time Luisers from troublemakers like Tim or these unnamed Cruisers who’ve jacked Biker Bob’s shades…
It certainly seems like it! 😆
This game seems more fun than the 2001 Bionicle game, Jakten på Makuta as we call it in our friend group. This at least has some lego elements in it. Lego board games tend to be broken because those are not usually the main toys from lego.
I feel like this needs to be reworked into a cooperative board game to really lean into the silliness.
Is it a rule that the items must fully attach? I assume you can’t just place a helmet loose on your player’s head if the neck piece gets in the way.
It’s not specifically stated one way or the other, haha. I put a full scan of the instruction book in the description if you want to take a look!
Time cruisers? A suprise to be sure, but a welcome one
4:38 I'm starting to suspect that you're one of those... Canadians *shudders*
In all seriousness though, these videos on super obscure lego things make for a fun watch. Keep up the great work.
👀
Crown can be worn upside down if those minifigs heads have hollow studs I suppose
These are the real pro strats right here. ☝️☝️
Me time traveling to get my old house fire prevented or getting stuff like old lego Batman sets at retail price
Time twister: “nuh huh, bad move buddy!”
