Wow! What a find. You remind me! Recently I search thru my collection and find two minute long trailer from early 2007 showing Andromeda mod capabilities. I just uploaded to my channel. Its 720P
Hi, recently came into possession of one of these modded cams and I'm looking for the Sculptor software. Could you send files or get me in contact with someone who might have a lead? thanks!!
I finally found the SculptorHD software. I posted the link into the video description! You'll need a 32-bit Mac running between OSX Snow Leopard and Mountain Lion to operate the software without errors.
I didn't mod it myself, and the team who were modding the cameras stopped a very, very long time ago. They were bought out by either Panasonic or RED. It was never disclosed who did.
@@TAGMedia7 heck yeah man, if you want a good game to pplay for the group i suggest taking a look into castle crashers, its pretty damn fun to play with up to 4 players
Yes, you definitely need a laptop with you for recording, I built a special portable rig. I took a Dell Latitude E6400 laptop and Hackintoshed it to run Snow Leopard. I outfitted the primary drive bay with a boot SSD and replaced the modular DVD drive with a hard drive caddy bay where I put in a 2TB SSD as my recording drive. Then I dial in my settings on the laptop, set it for recording, close the lid and put it into a special backpack. I got an external laptop battery which allows me to record continuously for up to six hours on a single charge. All of the recording was done on the secondary drive, which I pulled out later and hooked into my desktop hackintosh for file processing.
@@TAGMedia7 Send me a private message with how much you'd consider letting it go for. I'm mostly just a huge fan of the ccd era cameras. I was thinking about just buying the dvx100b soon for a mixed media project.
@@acwphotog I tried to send you a private message via TH-cam, but it doesn't seem like you have anything set up for that? Your channel has no 'About' section... maybe try sending me a message?
Wow! You are quite lucky! Where did you find the modded version? Also, how in the world did you get the footage off of the cam? Did you find the Sculptor HD software? If you find another one out there, let me know!!!!!
I'm actually considering selling this one, as I only grabbed it to satisfy my own curiosity and to scratch a personal itch...I got in touch with someone who previously owned an Andromeda camera and they were able to hook me up with the Sculptor software. It comes with all of the original accessories (charger, cables, manual, etc), along with a Century Optics wide angle lens adapter. Let me know if you're interested in buying it!
Good job getting this to work, it was a bear when it was new, putting together the legacy software had to be difficult
Been trying to find the best way to shoot with by DVX100B, wish there was a modern solution that worked like the andromeda mod.

I like the way the shutter looks on this camera, it actually looks better than my Canon G20. Do you have a lens on the camera in this video?

I wish I could! I had it backed up to a CD-R but can't find it

Did you get much use out of it?

Funny that you mention that! I'm looking to bring that back.

Also, do you have to carry the laptop with you when shooting, or do you only need it to export?

@@TAGMedia7 Wow! That is pretty amazing man! How big is that laptop? Does everything fit in the backpack quite comfortably?

I carry the laptop while shooting, the USB link needs to be connected for capture.
