Very nice! From the good old days when the band was tops. Great lighting effects. Thanks for finding this and posting it, Julos. Have a great summer - Marc
The best band to come out of England since the Stones. Better than the Smith, Charlatan, Roxy Music, Stone Roses(all fantastic bands). Ealy Lush is genius, no arguement.
The Clash never went past the 5 albums mark. And it's not a problem. I'd rather like a band with 5 brilliant records rather than another with 20 with half of them being worthless.
I've never seen a live performance of this song until now. Please include the year and venue in the title? I'm #145 on 9/22/09. I gave this video 5 stars.
Each to his own, but there's little connection between Lush and DCD, even less with the Sundays. Lush sporific ? WHAAT ? What about "Superblast", "Baby Talk", "Downer", "Leaves Me Cold" ? Seriously ?
You guys are going a little too fast. If no Cocteau, DCD and Sundays, there won't be any Lush. I saw them live in 91-92 and it was soporific. I love their songs though. Especially the 3-4 first years. But far from Cocteau.
I love Lush on disc but live (and I talk about their 3-4 first years) they were way too static. The guitar player looking at her instrument the whole set, long hair masking her face or turning her back. Shyness ?? maybe.
Very different bands altogether with only Robin Guthrie as a producer to one, having been a member of the other. Cocteau Twins were on another plain altogether and Lush were probably more of a band who worked better when they switched over to Britpop
A haunting song that brings a flood of memories back to me.Amazing vocals.
Wonderful song! Emma's writing Is so beautiful 🥹
My fave ❤
I luv luv luv Lush.
Lyrics - Lush - Monochrome - - - - Wake with the sun - What's going on, when you're gone - Fall asleep when you're near - What's going on, when you're here - And sometimes I think if I stand by the phone it may ring - And sometimes I worry and fear what tomorrow may bring - And you sing - And you sing - Breathe with your sigh - Makes me high, don't know why - Touching your skin - Wishing you were within - Your eyes are like saucers but mine are just clouded in gray - I've so much to tell but I can't and you just go away - Anyway - Won't you stay - Wake with the sun - What's going on, when you're gone - And when I lost control - I was cold, and I felt old - The ground is beneath me but slowly it's falling away - You say we're like children so why won't you come out and play? - And sometimes I think if I look at the phone it may ring - And sometimes I worry and fear what tomorrow may bring - When you sing - When you sing - - - - - Songwriters: Emma Victoria Jane Anderson / Emma Anderson - - - Monochrome lyrics © BMG Rights Management, Royalty Network - - - Artist: Lush - - Album: Black Spring - - Released: 1991 - - Genre: Alternative/Indie
Thank you so much for sharing this. This song means so much to me. Haven't seen any footage or anything of this band since I saw them live in 92.
Pure magic! Thank you for posting.

why didn't they play or record Super Blast on the reunion tour?
um before you can say they are the best they need to have a catalogue bigger than 5 records. TRy Pink FLoyd Radiohead THE CLASH!!!
hahaha nice one... WELP You win on a techincality...even though the EP have the same songs on the following albums!!!

Maybe some air kicks would have helped? Some feet up on the monitors? Rawk-faces during blazing solos?

Cocteaus dont hold a candle to Lush. Especially the first 3-4 years.
