    Thanks for the video 👍 what would be a good pwc for 2 people to do some island hopping, no tricks..more or less cruising. Thanks for any info

      Thanks for your comments. As far as your PWC choice for island hopping, much would depend on your budget as well as whether you are buying new or used. You will absolutely need reliability (hopefully you are riding with other PWCs for safety). A great 3 place PWC with lots of storage for equipment will also provide great comfort your your passenger.

      @@DucatiHyper after researching I've narrowed it to a Yamaha...was thinking vx cruiser...supposed to be better for beginners because its larger?? I'd have to go new, I have no knowledge of engines and boats...that being said, I'd just you tube for maintenance when I can. Budget..11k ish

      @@jasondevereaux3369 That's actually a great choice. The options and accessories that are included are fantastic, but the overall features this machine has will be perfect for the distance runs you'll be doing. It's got great stability and the 1.8 liter HO powerplant allows you a good rate of speed for quicker travel time (depending on water conditions of course). The one thing I would suggest is to find a dealer that would allow test rides. You need to be sure the seat will be good for your passenger. It is a unique design. Good call on the VX Cruiser. You will have to negotiate a bit to keep within your budget. You need to remember that you are going to need a cover and a trailer.

    im installing a motor in one does this model have a single ground from battery and does it hook to block or starter on this model

      I no longer have this machine, but here is a link to a free shop manual seadoomanuals.net/manuals/2003-seadoo-shop-manual.php . I would try this first, because there may be more than one ground on this.

    To get the Bendix off, do you tap that cap off, spring and then just reverse thread that gear?

    • @beginboating
      @beginboating  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is a "C-clip" above the cap. Just remove that, then everything can be removed (the gear took some persuasion to get free because of the corrosion.).

    Hey I have the same exact jet ski I run a while in the water then after a few laps it wouldn’t crank

    I do a bunch of these every year you do not have to remove the exhaust just a long extension and 20 minutes and you're done

      Thanks for your reply. I removed it to make it easier to show the process. Thanks for mentioning that this is possible to do without removing the exhaust. Someone may want to try that first. 😉

      There could be a host of issues causing that. I would need a lot more info or be able to see it in person. Sorry, but thanks for your comments.

    I have a 2005 GTI like this one. Mine will crank fine when I first put it into the water. After I ride a while and try to restart it sometimes it will not crank. The starter doesn’t seem to stay engaged long enough to start the engine. Do you think my starter is the problem or should I look for something else?

    • @DucatiHyper

      Without being there to experience exactly what is happening, I will take a guess at what may be happening. If my assumption about the conditions aren't true, let me know.
      It sounds like what may be happening is that the engine is attempting to start when it is warm but when it tries, it is just enough to kick out the starter from the flywheel, yet the engine may have an issue about staying running when it is warm (low compression in one cylinder possibly?).
      Assuming that your battery is holding a charge, there shouldn't really be a reason for the starter to disengage while you are pressing the start button once it initially starts to turn over the engine.
      You should however check to be sure your connections are clean and tight to your starter, battery, and relay.

      @@DucatiHyper I’ve had the compression check and it was good. New injectors and rail too. It actually runs really good. Sometimes the starter will just spin and not engage at all. Other times it engages but not for long before it spins out. Battery was bought last season so it should be still good. I’m about to take it out of storage this weekend and look into replacing the starter. Thank you for the video and your reply!

      @@michaelcarter8657 After hearing the new information, I would agree with you that it needs a new starter. While you may be able to replace the bedix and spring, and be up and running again, I would absolutely purchase a new starter as I mentioned in the video. Thanks for your description of your issue, because this helps everyone who reads it.

    What symptoms were you having? Clicking? Slow crank no crank? My positive post is glowing red when I hit the start button must be a short in it right?

    • @beginboating
      @beginboating  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Most likely your starter is locked up. It is also, but less likely to be a loose connection.
      My symptom was when I pushed the starter button, the starter would spin but the bendix gear was stuck in place. I removed the starter and freed up the gear.
