    Algae sounds very familiar for fish keepers. Most people often don't want algae in their fish tank. Algae can get into our aquariums through many ways, such as floating on living plants. Black Beard algae truly has a great aesthetic. It's a type of algae that is difficult to get rid of, because it attached themselves to hard surfaces and also leaves of slow growing plants. Hair Algae can also grow on living plants, which will cause the plants to grow unhealthy. Thank you so much for making this video.

    I'm watching this, to insure I build a proper setup to GROW algae.
    Everything I raise eats algae (funny how my pets are listed in this video as ones who eat it) and I can't get or keep any growing in the aquarium or I can't see it.

    Love this video, I've been keeping fish for around 9 months or so, so wouldn't say I'm a beginner but I'm not a pro or a intermittent fish keeper. I am putting a Betta in a 10 gallon with some Blue Shrimp and 4-5 Tetras, and maybe a bristle-nose. I was wanting another opinion on it to see if this going to work out.

    • @AquariumStoreDepot
      @AquariumStoreDepot  ปีที่แล้ว

      Awesome to hear. Thanks for your comment ^_^. Bristle nose is gonna be a little big for a 10 gallon. Consider Octos

    So I have a weird issue, I have green fuzz and stag horn algae as well as green spot.... My plants are healthy appearing but I don't have lots of plants.... It's a new set up but I'm not new to tanks,
    Everything tests good, it's 75 gallon. I have 3-4 dozen guppies 7 bristle nose and 3 Betta. I keep the tank at 22°c, and a 48" light that might be on for too long into the evening on moon mode.

      Have you tested your phosphate levels and your source water. I just went with RO for planted tanks so I could have better control over nutrients from my source water. I have high phosphates and hard water where I live

    Did I get brown diatom algae because of using too much aquarium salt? Looking up silicates and it says something about the acidity?
